I'm really new at this, so if this isn't the right place, please let me know. Due to work/graduation from a masters program. My BF & I planned a VERY last minute trip to WDW (booked Feb 5th, travel 2/20-2/28). We are Staying at CSR & doing the dining plan. I have a few questions so any help is very thankful (my last trip was in '98 with HS,so... and never ate any TS meals)

1) I've heard CSR has it's own mug, but I also want one of the new cool mugs (yes I know we have to buy them), can I use the other "resort" mug at CSR, or would I just be wasting my money??

2) My BF & I are HUGE dinner people, so i made all dinner res. I'm more breakfast/snack lunch, he's more snack am/big lunch, can we split out CS meals so we each only use 1 per day, or is this considered in poor taste.

3) Are my dinner res. ok, or are we going to be very upset. The only one that is a "must" do is Crystal Palace (I'm a HUGE Eeyore fan, and tring to collect Eeyores in the late '80s early '90s was interesting):
Chefs France; Tony's; Mama Melrose;Marakesh; Crystal Palace; Bomma; Ohna; Biergarten (may cancel as not sure I'd like it, and my BF LOVES seafood which I don't like, so any good seafood place to add would be good, CAN NOT get into Coral Reef, tried)

Thanks so much, I know this is VERY short notice, but the timing & the deals all worked out for us so..........

1. No, you will not be able to use the "generic" mug at the CSR. You can only use the CSR mug. We always stay at the CSR and I will be buying the generic mug to bring home and will get the CSR mug for our stay there (the CSR mug, by the way, is bigger).

2. DH and I often split counter service meals at breakfast and lunch (or dinner) so that we have one for each meal when we are not doing table service. This is especially good at the places where the portions are huge and I can't eat all that they serve.

3. We love Crystal Palace--but we've only done breakfast (DH wears his Eeyore ears every year--this year Eeyore tried to take them); we have never done Chef France (we don't like French food) or Marakesh, Boma or Ohana (doubt we'll ever do Marakesh--don't like the menu; I've read pros/cons for Boma and we will do that one for breakfast to be safe and we are doing Ohanas in September). We've done lunch and dinner at Tony's--we like lunch better because the portions are smaller and service better, but dinner is good too; we like Mama Melrose a lot--we've always had good food and great service; Biergarten is one of our must-do's every other year (we trade off with Rose & Crown). As for seafood, I think your other choices might be Narcooses and Flying Fish. I know at least one of those is two table service credits (assuming you are on the dining plan). We went to Flying Fish years ago and it was only okay. We get our seafood at Downtown Disney at Fulton's--a long time favorite of ours. However, they are expensive and they are not on the dining plan.

Hope this helps a little.

Wow, thanks so much for the quick reply, my Eeyore hat finally died so can't wear it, but I do plan on wearing a "small" amount of my stuff. I'm glad to see I'm at least on the right path for this meal thing. Bomma is on there only because my boss told me he wouldn't give me my vacation if I didn't try it. I've heard better things about Tony's for lunch but it was either 11, or 7 so in order to enjoy a meal together it was dinner. Thanks again, this board is awsome

Try Cape May - it's a seafood buffet, but also has lots of non-seafood choices as well. We loved it!

You can definitely share a CS meal- and some are very large. We especially like the chicken/rib platter at Cosmic Rays http://allears.net/menu/men_cr.htm, the Italian sandwich at Pizzafari http://allears.net/menu/menu_piz.htm, or anything at Sunshine Seasons http://allears.net/menu/men_ssff.htm. We also LOVE eating at Biergarten http://allears.net/menu/men_ger.htm- they have so many options & the food is awesome. You could also try getting into Coral Reef when you go to EPCOT. Last Dec, we had trouble getting one of our ADRs, but getting into the restaurant as a walk-in was really easy. As for your other ADRs, Boma is delicious, but I'd swap Tony's for another restaurant. I've eaten at Tony's & it was "okay," but Disney offers so many other restaurants that are way better than okay. (Just my opinion.) Regardless, you'll have a wonderful time!

This is spot on good advice. There is a large selection of seafood and non-seafood items at Cape May Cafe so there will be plenty there for both of you to choose from. It also gives you an opportunity to visit the Beach Club resort.

Unless you really love Italian food, I would recommend ditching Tony's. This TS consistently gets more bad reviews than good and I have to agree with that. My family and I have been to Tony's and Mama Melrose and we much preferred Mama Melrose.
