I have been trying all day to book our flights for the Med cruise. I found the price we were wanting this morning--finally. But when I went to book it, after filling in all the info (for seven people :scared1:) then paid it came back to the window with flight options and said "Sorry we are unable to book your flight." So it gave me an alternative time for just a little more so I took it and the same thing!

I have now tried to buy them like four times today and the same thing keeps happening. I'm not sure if Air Canada is just working on their flights so it's causing some issue or what is going on but I am so frustrated!

Anyone else have issues getting their flights or with Priceline in general? I have used them several times in the past and have never had an issue.

Some airlines don't allow you to book more than six on-line; you have to call them directly. Maybe Priceline has the same restrictions?

No. It says to call if you have more than nine. If they don't allow more than six and you try, it will give you a message...I've run into that a lot but not on Priceline.

I think it's more of an Air Canada issue :confused3

Maybe they don't have that many seats at that price?! :confused3 Maybe you could try to break them into 4 & 3 and make 2 purchases?! I have never used Priceline only Kayak which directs you to the airlines websites. But I have read before that sometimes you can't get ALL of your seats at the same price if they have a limited amount available. I was checking something on our Air France flights a few days ago and noticed that some of them said 9+ seats available & some said 5 seats remaining.

Being Canadian I am more than familiar with the frustrations of Air Canada.....not sure what the deal with Priceline is, but AC pricing changes all the time -- I've seen my flight change $400 for one leg in less than an hour, then change to something lower, but different than the starting price:confused3

I had the same problem when I was booking Air Canada flights for our Med Cruise. I would choose the flights & the price and then when I got to the screen to pay the price would go up and I would end up having to start over. It was very frustrating! This happened with several different travel sites including Air Canada direct.

I ended up going to the Lufthansa website - and got the exact same flights (because they were code shared). The best part is, I got the exact same flights direct from Lufthansa for cheaper than my original Air Canada flights!

I considered trying booking two different times but I'm afraid I'd buy five tickets then couldn't get the same flights for the other two...made me too nervous to split them up.

Interesting info about air Canada. They have the best times and price right now...hopefully that will change. I'll check lufthansa...thanks for that tip.

Delta has a nice price but the flight leaves at 10 am the day the ship gets back and it makes me nervous...I wanted closer to noon.

How much would you save booking with priceline per ticket verses booking direct with Air Canada? I've never used Priceline for flights just hotels. Didn't think us Canadians could use it for international flights?

If I could have gotten the quoted price, quite a bit. I have been on and off air canada's site all day too and their flights kept changing this morning and the prices have been different every time I search there.

I think I have given up on them at this point!

What % savings would have you saved? What is the draw backs of booking with Priceline?

For US-flagged carriers, in my experience, there is little to no benefit to using Priceline over the airline's website. Additionally, if you belong to a frequent flier program, flights booked through Priceline either don't count or count less than those booked through the airline directly. Personally, I find Priceline not worth it.

I booked my Air Canada flights through Expedia, because they were offering a lower price than booking directly with Air Canada. I too had issues trying to book online so I just called Expedia's toll free number and was able to book that way for the same price they had online. Try it calling priceline and book over the phone with them :thumbsup2

By booking through Priceline I would have (if I could have snagged the price that was coming up) saved around $1,000 total over going direct through Air Canada, so it would have been worth it!

I tried calling but couldn't get a real person--imagine that :sad2:

I'll check out Expedia...thanks!
