I hate spiders - I don't just hate them.. I HATE them! I think it's pretty much the only living thing in the world I'm scared of - I have zero fear of any other animal - that said..
One night I woke up from a dead sleep for no reason. The tv was on (we sleep with the tv on, don't ask
) and I looked straight up to see a big old hairy spider with 2 inch fangs covered in blood (well, at that time of night it looked like that) hanging directly over my head off of a strand of web - maybe about 12 inches from my face.
My first impulse was to scream bloody freakin' murder. Luckily a rational wave came over me and thought - if I do that, I might scare the monster and he might fall off his little string right onto my face or worse yet, right into my mouth as I screeched.
So I did the logical thing. I scushed over in the bed about 24 inches until I had Matt unconsciously clinging to the edge(nothing wakes that man up) - and THEN I screamed bloody freaking murder (I take it back - THAT woke him up!)
I was right. I scared the beegeezes out of the spider and he fell on the bed.
MeanLaureen - calm and cool when scared to the edge of almost peeing her pants. I'm proud of myself
Oh, and does this mean that PETA actually stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Arachnids?
