This has been around for months. What some people won't do to get their hands on your money. Be sure to report it to Paypal. Paypal will never ask for your password..never ever. Your cc should only be given if you signed on direct to https.paypal.com.

I've been hit with these before too. Also been hit with similar e-mails pretending to be from ebay wanting similar information. You really have to be careful these days.

I got this same email twice on one of my hotmail accounts. I just hit delete. Mickey

I also recived 3 such e-mails about this. Read the first one and said to myself SCAM. I deleted it. I don't open e-mail from people I don't know and anyone or place asking for my acct. # gets dumped! Guess I should've reported it though.

I've gotten this email about 3 times now. I've reported it to Paypal each time. If you look into the coding the email you can see where the web form information is being directed. It is definitely not a Paypal site. Some pathetic scam artist.

Mine did not ask for my paypal password, it asked me to "reconfirm" my credit card info! I reported it to AOL, I should have sent it on to Paypal, too.

Never got the paypal message but I did win the International Lottery this weekend for 5 million euros. All I have to do is western union $700 set up fees! The penalty for scams should be life in person. Why not - it would deter a good sampling.

I got the Paypal email last week!! As soon as I read it I laughed ,what a scam!! I was telling DH today that if I get a second one I will enter all the wrong information.Let the creep figure that out once he has gone thru the trouble ,let me waste his time. .

JMO, but I wouldn't do that, you might accidently give him someone else's correct info (I know the odds are high, but it could happen) and that may cause gried for someone else. I would however, report anything like this to PayPal. The only way they can keep on top of things is to know what is going on.

Also, PayPal does send out e-mails if the CC you have on file is about to expire and asks you to come the site to update it--just make sure you go to the site yourself if you get any such e-mail, don't click on any links, just in case.

Isn't it funny the con artist could even use a valid date.

There is no Sep 31,2003

I have had that happen in AOL before

You get a email from AOL Billing and it tells you to click on a link and verify your credit card information.... the link takes you to a page that looks just like AOL - but the address is an angelfire website...

If you try to respond to the email there is no such address at AOL Billing...

You have to be so careful out there in the cyber world - I am sure people fall for these scams all the time.

>>^..^<<

FYI, there is a new scam out today. It's from someone claiming to be from Best Buy fraud dept. The e-mail tells you someone is trying to use your credit card for purchases and has a link where you are supposed to verify your info. I got this one today and really thought it was legit. I called Best Buy and it's a scam. I guess a lot of people got this e-mail today. Beware!
