Beware overlapping seasons on your trip

If you are at all like we are our vacation takes place starting during regular then going into value. Unfortunatly Disney doesn't change your rate to the new value rate unless you make a separate reservation. So in other words booking for a week gets you the higher rate every night, where if you split it into two you can save some cash. I saved $350 by booking it this way. Just a little FYI. Our trip is during july 4th week. Value season starts July 5. Check out when the seasons are and see if you are in the same situation.

Many people make two reservations to take advantage of the lower rate. You should mention at check in that you have a continuing reservation so you can stay in the same room for the entire stay.

We'll be WDW July 1-15. I have two reservations at the GF. FIrst one is July 1-4 and second one is July 5-15. July 5th starts value season and the difference is $60 per night for a lagoon view room.

It works the reverse way as well. I booked our stay at the poly, with the first night being the last day of the value rate. The entire stay is booked under the value rate

I'm sure we won't be hard to miss - 3 kids (oldest 7)! Which week will you be there? Are you going for the 4th of July. We usually went later in July, or even August but we want to use up our AP and it expires the 18th of July. Don't you just love GF?

We are arriving in Disney during value and while we are there it turns into peak in the middle of our stay, they are charging us value for the whole thing. I did not have to make seperate ressies. I know no other off site hotels extend that courtesy, oh well at least you were able to do it! enjoy!!

Glenco: That's because you started your trip during value season. If you start your trip in the more expensive season and then it changes over to value season, you should split your reservation. But if you start in value season, your whole stay will be at value season rate.

You get the same rate for the whole trip as the rate on the day you check in. For your trip it worked out in your favor. For others, it doesn't, so they split their reservation.

It's not really that Disney is extending you a courtesy by giving you value rates throughout your trip. They extend the same courtesy (of one rate for their whole trip) to those who start in Peak season and end in Regular.
