Beware of "Fungrabbers"

I completely agree that rude behavior at DL, is a fungrabber experience. However, some of the 'fixes' presented here seem just as rude. It may make us feel superior to cut down another guest who is having an enjoyable time (for them) talking to a CM, or enjoying an attraction with their family, or even saving a spot in line (perhaps while someone finds and uses a restroom). But think about it, did it hurt another guest (i.e., did YOU inadvertently become a fungrabber to another guest?).

We have the 'power of DIS' and lots of DL info that can help others have a magical time. Perhaps when confronted with a chatty guest, you can just ask the CM if they could ring you upand then the guest would be free to carry on the conversation after your transaction was done. Is there really a need to send them away, especially rudely? And then to laugh about how you 'one upped' them... Maybe we could be the fun givers (like Tink 33 said!) and help folks have a more magical time at Disney. Let them know some of the DL secrets, or if your experience with the line showed that it was only 20 min., not the posted 40 min. But being rude to perceived fungrabbers won't really make the experience more enjoyable for anyone.

Enjoy life and great vacations!

FOR THAT I THANK YOU!!

Perhaps you misread my comment, but I doubt it. If you don't want to re-read it, I will summarize it for you. I only dismissed (rudely as you say) the fungrabber after she rudely told me that she was not done talking. I, being a rather patient person, only politely asked the CM to ring up my purchase after I had waited long enough for this "guest's" excessive conversation to end, which it didn't.

When I worked for Disney, I was used to dealing with these people on a daily basis. As a guest, I should not have to. However that's where the patience comes in. Believe me when I say that I waited plenty of time before I interrupted the conversation.

On a similar note. I was at the park yesterday (Monday) and had a similar situation happen in The Disney Gallery. This time, the "guest" was a know-it-all who was asking questions about the Disneyland 50 DVD, and then about a park map, and then about each item that was on the counter. This person was trying to impress the people he was with about his vast knowledge of Disney and was oviously not going to purchase anythig. The CM who noticed that I was waiting to make a purchase, politely excused himself from the other "guest" so that he could ring me up.

I thanked the CM for stepping away from that person to take care of me.
Was that the wrong thing to do?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say YOU were rude! (Forgive me for that!)
I was only trying to point out that sometimes in our effort to "take the fun back" we (any of us, me included...certainly not your specifically) can be a fungrabber to someone else. I'm sure you were patient and even as kind as possible and only wanted to buy your purchases.

I'm glad the CM om Monday was able to excuse himself from the monopolizing guest so that he could ring you up.

I hope you had a fun filled day at Disneyland.

Enjoy life and great vacations!

On the 17, mid-afternoon, the Disney Gallery castmember was rudely pushing us out of the way of looking at the store items, so that she could get/do what she needed...I understand people are entitled to their feelings, but realize that your actions do affect other people. I just got disgusted and left.

Say you are looking for a spot to watch fireworks and you see a blanket/tarp laying on the ground, wouldn't it be responsible to fold it up then have your party sit down and wait for the fireworks while you responsibly take it to the lost and found so the poor person that lost it could find it.
No, if no one is on the blanket, simply inform security and have them remove it, then they have to explain to security "oh we were too lazy to have one of us (and that is all they require) to remain with our tarp/blanket.

We were in DL last week and saw 5 or so sweatshirts lying on the ground right in front of the Rivers of America--obviously people saving their "seats" for Fantasmic. This was at 3:00. The guy walking in front of us stomped on them and kicked them out of his way. Then he told the nearest cast member to clean up "that trash."

This would be a different way to handle the tarp situation.
