I have been calling Disney almost on a daily basis to change the first of my ressie at the GF. I added on an extra day to our ressie and could only get a lagoon view room. The other days I have are in the SugarLoaf concierge. How many times do they tell you to keep calling to check for availability with the passholder rate? Well I have been unsuccessful.
Today I called to confirm my ressies because we are leaving soon. The CM said " oh, your first night is in the main bldg. concierge." I said NO, I didn't make any changes to my ressie, and I already paid for my first night. She said when I called to check availability the other day they changed my lagoon view room to the main bldg. I was so upset at that point, because not only do they not have my lagoon view available, the main bldg. is a few hundred $ more and I am still going to have to switch rooms. I am also changing hotel midway in my 10 day stay. So, I had to talk to someone in guest services and of course there is no one in today to help me try and change this. I am so annoyed. I already have my plane tickets purchased and can't change my days. She told me the only thing I could do was try and book a room at RACK RATE for the first night. I don't think so. I hope this is going to be resolved. I never authorized any change on my ressie, I only called to check availability. So Beware of calling to check for other availability. They might mess up your ressie too!

You know, it may have been an honest mistake. People call to change their reservations all the time, not everyone is going to make an accidental change. I'm sure your situation will be resolved.

Something somewhat similar happened to me once. I called to check on availability at another resort only to find my original was cancelled. The CM put me on the phone with a manager since there were no rooms avail in the moderate category. I didn't even have to ask, she just transferred me. I explained the situation and got booked back into my original resort at the same price - despite there being no aparent availability.

Perhaps you could plead your case to a manager.

Something similar just happened to me tonight. I had booked the AK for 3 nights pool view and had been trying to get the BAT discount for the WL for an additional 3 nights. I never was able to get the discount for WL so I asked her to verify my reservation. She gave me date of Oct 31 thru Nov 3 I NEVER asked for those dates, they were supposed to be Nov 1 thru Nov4. The agent informed me that the pool view was no longer available for the nights I wanted and I had to book for the Savannah view which was $30 more a night. Something is diffently wrong here, as of now any future reservations will not be booked thru WDW reservations line. ALso I will be calling guest services as well. Anyone else have this happen? I suggest everyone who is going better check there reservations. :(

I to have had this happen this past week or 2. I am there Dec 6 for 7 nights. they keep saying dec 3rd...they also told me I have the wrong number....I said NO, I have 3 reciepts from them because my trip is paid in full, then they have said."oh THIS is your number"........just what I said!

I'm still waiting to hear from guest services. I'll give them until early afternoon and then I will call. Does anyone know if you just call the 800# and ask to be transferred to guest services? Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the final outcome?

Good Luck with getting it resolved. I called several times last June to check AP rates at the Poly. We had one room at AP rate and another room with Disney Visa rate (which was just a little higher). Well after one call I made I discoved they took my lower AP rate off and gave me the Disney Visa rate on both rooms??
I said why would I change a lower rate to a higher rate?? Makes no sense. Then they said I had to talk to cs and I held for a long time and got disconnected. When I cb I got a cm who said my room had a AP rate, with a ressie made that day. Which was impossible because when I called the didnt have any AP rates left.
Bottom line I did get my AP rate back but it was a problem that it shouldnt have been.

We had trouble a few weekends ago. We decided to stay all All-star Music at the last minute. I called at 3pm to make my ressie. We arrived at 6pm. Went to check in and the girl verified our names, then said ,"oh...I'll be right back." She was gone 15 minutes and came out with a manager. Our reservation had been cancelled. They said that the system purges cancellations after 5pm. Luckily there was room left and they got us in.

A while back, a CM posted that the more you call to make changes, the more apt you are to have mistakes. I don't think it's eazy for the Cms to add a day here or there to an existing reservation with their computer system.

Mistakes will always happen, but the more you call to tweak your reservations, the more likely the mistakes will befall you.

Just an update-Guest Services called me just before and fixed the problem for me. I feel much better now. I know a lot of people on these DISBoards call frequently to try and adjust there ressies. Some people even book the discounts day by day. All I am saying is to be careful when you call and try and check availability of dates, room categories, etc. that they don't accidentally change your reservation. By the time you get the modified ressie in the mail, it may be too late to try and find your availability. We all know this can change in a matter of minutes, hours, etc.

Oh, I sure hope you get this situation straightened out. Making ressies can be so complicated and then having to deal with this on top of it just adds to it

BTW - Aren't the cm supposed to give you a new confirmation number when you make changes or is this only when you change resorts completely?

I know they changed our ressie number when I switched resorts for our upcoming trip.

Good luck in getting your situation resolved. I had a simular situation happen to us and that is why I now have Dreams Unlimited to handle OUR reservations. They are great :).

That's why I make sure to have them repeat all the information back to me before I hang up. When I got my WL BAT code discount for all seven nights, I made her repeat it back to me, and then I called back an hour later just to confirm it again!! ::yes::

We changed our Pop Century ressies from the beginning of October to the end of October. We received a written confirmation from Disney. Despite the written confirmation of the change, when we called back to change the reservation to a day earlier, we found out our reservation had been CANCELLED. Thank goodness we called back.

Even when the resort is supposedly full, management holds back a few rooms in case of guest problems, room problems, etc. this is what I was told by management at the GF and by someone at CRO. So even when you're told it's full, there are a few rooms for management or CRO/WDTC to use in case of a problem that aren't in the general reservation pool.

It is a great idea to use DU, though. This is the first time we're using them, but I'm very confident in their service (and I'm already impressed with their communication).

For those of you using DU for resort ressies, I have a couple questions. I have booked a cruise with DU and would like to stay at a monorail resort for 2 days following the cruise. Leaning towards the poly, but still open to suggestion. Can using a TA like DU get me a cheaper rate or is it the same as if I call myself? We are from out of state and will not likely be back for several years so I wouldn't think an AP will help us with room cost. We do have AAA and I've heard about mousesavers codes. We'd also like to schedule PS for Cinderella's Castle breakfast. Odds are we'll arrive at the hotel day we disembark from cruise, enjoy the hotel offerings that day, and only go to MK the 2nd day. So, all in all, I'm curious if it'd be better/cheaper for us to handle the ressies or to use a TA like DU.

We had a reservation problem too. I originally booked 5 nights (6days) at the POR. Then I bought ultimate park hopper passes for the 6 days. However since we werent going to be there the last day (driving 10 hours home that day) we figured we would just get the ultimate park hopper tickets for 5 days. Ok, we didn't know that the UPH tickets had to be for the entire stay and the lady who talked to my wife didnt explain that, so what the lady at Disney did was to break up our stay into 2. a 4 night stay with a ultimate park hopper ticket and a 1 night stay with no tickets.
My wife called me at work and said that we owed more money. I'm like what for? I called them and they said that because I had one night stay listed that I didnt get the FALL special rate, and that I had to put a serperate down payment on it. I told them I want it back the way I had it originally. So after we got it back to the way it was i still owed .02 cents. Which they HAD to have in order to keep my reservation.
I have called once already to make sure everything is still like I want it and since I leave in 10 days. Got my fingers crossed :)

We have had them cancel our ressies too. A supervisor of some sort eventually straightened it all out. :D

Actually, they can issue Unlimited Magic Passes for a different length of stay. Once at the GF, our APs didn't expire until the next day, so the CM sold us Unlimited Magic Passes for a 10 day stay, rather than an 11 day stay. He told us they do it all the time, especially if someone's arriving late or just doesn't want the pass to start on the day of arrival. I'm assuming this is a Disney secret, but it happened to us a few years ago.
