Beware harv n marvs

I'm currently in Juneau waiting for my harv n marvs private tour w my confirmation in hand. Apparently they messed up on my parties reservation & can no longer accommodate us. So we were up early with very excited kids & were told 'so sad, my bad' - we have nothing available. I had paid in full & now have to fight for a refund for something screwed up by harv n marvs. So even if you have a confirmation - beware.
 
Oh no. I am so sorry, but thank you for the feedback. We were looking at them for our Alaska cruise next year. I hope you don't have an issue with your refund.
 
We had a similar incident 2 years ago. I think their name was Jet Dolphin. Although they had our reservation they were missing others. We waited over an hour while they arranged a second boat. We all got out there but a great deal of our touring time was gone.

If you paid by credit card, file a dispute with your CC company immediately if you expect having any issues with getting a refund.
 

Bummer! Hate when someone else's screwup has a negative impact on your vacation. They should do more than just refund your $$$

I am sorry to hear about that. What makes you think you will have to "fight" for your refund? Did they indicate that they wouldn't refund your money?

Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your cruise.

Yikes- that is scary and annoying! Did you have the private charter or seats on the group one? Not that it matters either way, just curious if they overbooked the seats or the boats! Did they have no idea they had erred until too many people showed up? I think they should have found and booked you on a competitor (if available) as a 'least they can do to save some customer service.' We sail with them in 2 weeks- hope so at least!

Thanks all. It was a private 'tour # 2'. They actually called me a little while after we left the ship & were in town & offered to give us a full refund plus take us for a 2 hour watching tour. We just got back & it was awesome, saw whales, porpoise & seals. We were with Russell who was very knowledgeable. I also had confirmation that my refund was being processed. So a bad & disappointing start turned out ok. I'm so glad I had all my emails printed out to show them as they were adamant I was wrong & they were right!

we were there in June.... no problems with anyone from our cruise.. on both the early and the later trips!! (there were 3 families with us on the early trip...3 boats... then 3 more at the 10:30.)

So glad to hear it worked out...
I am going to call a week before to confirm all is good, as well as have all documentation with us.
I too have heard they are under " new ownership" so I hope this is a unique situation.
Again, glad you were able to make your excursion.
 
Sorry to hear you had trouble with your reservation and very glad it all worked out. We had a party of 10 and had the boat to ourselves. Our guides were very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
 
Yes, our tour was with Harv and Marv on June 28 and it was great. No problems at all, we had a party of 10 and had the boat to ourselves. Our guides were awesome. There was so much fog - he had to run on GPS and radar, but he found a clearing and we saw quite a few whales there - including a couple moms and babies. They shared a lot of information about the whales. It was a great tour - enjoyed by all 3 generations in our family!

People just reading the first post will believe that this company are no good and that you have to fight for a refund, when actually the opposite is much truer.:confused3
