I am so steamed. I just got off the phone with DDE and the Ticket center after over 30 mins. When we purchased our DVC ap's we were supposed to get a will call cert. When we did not, we called and they said they weren't doing that anymore, just use the email confirmation at the gate.

Fine.

Now I called to purchase a DDE card and they cannot issue it without an Exchange voucher or ap #, which I don't have yet. No problem. I told them to just call ticketing and they will assure you we have an AP paid for. Nope. They can't do that. We just have to turn in the email at the gate, call DDE with the AP# and they will fax the DDE to the gate.

Problem. They are closed on Mon Feb 21 when we are arriving. I call ticketing back so they can mail us an exchange cert. Problem, it takes 10-14 days by which we will be gone. But for a $10 fed ex charge we can have it in 5 days.

After talking to a supervisor, we will have it by fed ex in 5 days, no charge. (hopefully)

So, if you don't have your AP # or voucher #, take care of it at least 3-4 weeks before you go down, it will be very complicated. Obviously, they were unprepared for this and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Thanks for the heads-up on what would surely be a very frustrating situation.

Things must have changed in the last three weeks. We called on 1/14, one week prior to our trip, got the $50 rate simply by telling them we were AP holders, which we are (spoke with Allison). They emailed us the form letter from Rosa Flores on 1/17 verifying our DDE membership. We used it on our last trip and saved $58!! They never asked for AP verification when ordering the card or using the card! We used it at ESPN, Rose & Crown, Tusker House and the Crews Cup lounge.

What is a DDE card? I could not find it in the list of abbreviations.

Thanks.

Big thanks for the heads up, man I would be way past frustrated in that catch 22...

Good Luck!

I think its 70 restaurants. Normally it would be $75 but for AP holders its $50. Includes drinks.

Actually, it is now only available to FL Residents at $75, no more out of staters - unless the non-resident is an AP holder.

All AP holders can get it for $50, regardless of residency.

Any non-resident that did purchase the DDE prior and is not an AP holder will have their cards honored for this year only.

I called last week and they asked for my AP number.

I got mine without an ap# just acouple weeks ago Fot $50.00 so they must have had a problem with people without ap"s trying to get them they didn.t ask for my AP when I used it just ID to verify the name. Good Luck. You might try a different time as they seem to be inconsistant on the way they impose policy. :cool1:

We squeaked in before the crack down. I waited until THE last minute to take care of the ticketing issue and hemed and hawed about buying a AP instead of a 10 MYW pass... opted for the AP on....

On January 21st I ordered my DVC AP online and I got the email on January 22rd with a will call certifcate attached. I called DDE the moment I got it and they didnt ask for any information. They told me I should recieve an email inthe next couple of days (I was leaving the next day) and the email arrived later that night. Printed out several copies of the letter (no one asked to keep it) and saved over $100 on this trip alone!

I am so sorry you had to jump through so many hoops, but happy to hear it will be resolved in time for your trip. The card is worth it. ((((Hugs))))

Ditto! I am sorry the OP has had so much trouble getting a DDE card. The card paid for itself for us after just three meals!

I ordered my DDE card last month. They did not ask for any numbers from the AP and sent the e-mail the following day. However, it has not appeared on my credit card yet!

Is is possible to buy DDE on property? If so, you might be able to get one when you activate your AP.

I have read that you can call them once your on property and have them fax the letter to your hotel.

They insisted on an AP number last week when I called. Better have it handy.
