I thought I would end the complaining thread and asked for help from all you flight experts. Flight leaves Fort Wayne at 4:50 to arrive in Atlanta at 7:30. This flight is constantly late by an average of 1/2 hour to an hour. My connecting flight leaves at 8:25. Their is another flight at 9:55.

Advice given to me was to watch the 4:50 flight thru out the day. When I get to the ticket counter, inform the agent that I will miss my connection, and have the agent get me a new flight on another airline or make the switch to the later 9:55 flight. This way, if the flight is on time (which does happen on occasion), I would make my better connection.

The other option is to switch to the 9:55 connection and if the plane is on time, I have a longer wait in Atlanta.\

Advice anyone??

If your flight is actually late departing and you think you'll miss your connection flight, just ask the agent in your departure city to protect you on the 9:55 flight.

I would take the later conneccting flight, even if you have a longer layover, there is plenty to do in the atlanta airport. This way you know when you will arrive at MCO.

This is advice given by BL over the phone (she can read yet!)

Good luck.

if its a misconnect then ask them nicely if they can put you on another carrier into mco. since it was their flight that got you in late and let them know that you were not happy with what they put you on to begin with after the cancelled comair flight. if they refuse to put you on another carrier then ask them for food vouchers to get something to eat since you are now inconvenienced to sit around in their airport and wait for the next flight they have.

Beverly Lynn how is life without glasses? A couple of my friends have had the procedure and loved it! Thanks for all your helpful posts.

I really don't think you want to be asked to be put on another carrier since I believe the only other carrier operating non-stop ATL-MCO is Air Tran, and I certainly wouldn't want to fly them over DL, and I don't think you want to connect between ATL and MCO. I'm also pretty sure there is no non-stop service from Fort Wayne to Orlando on DL or anyone else that you'd want to get on instead if you know the flight is going to be late before you even get on it.

Like I said, if the flight is going to be late, when you are in Fort Wayne ask them to protect you on the 9:55 flight, what that means is that you will have a confirmed seat on both flights, if you get to ATL in time for the original flight, you're fine ... if you miss it, you already have a confirmed seat on the next flight.

BTW, I'm assuming you're on DL, and I was curious about the equipment you'd be on, and according to a quick sample of flight schedules (which may be different than the exact day you are flying) I just looked at for the future, DL has 8:35 PM and 9:35 PM flights.

Its a Candair regional Jet. Its a great Jet, I love to fly in them!:jester:
