I do discipline Kaylee in public, just not on a plane. It is small, crowded, and her crying is very loud. So, I try to keep everyone else's ears and nerves in mind. Plus I dont want to be kicked of the flight...She will hopefully understand about her milk. I will try to get her a script..LOL dont know how that will work... I hope I can just pop her some phenogran gel on her wrist and she will be off to lala land ( hope her sleepkitty/lovie soothes and will help take the place of her milk ) I may try a back up plan. Usually we get to preboard, maybe a FA will give her a small bottle of water at preboard.... I hope so. If not maybe I will take a lollipop. She does not get them that often, and this may excite her enough to get her mind off her milk.... :goodvibes

As I said before, I have NO doubt you are an excellent parent.
As a pax who listens to a lot of children crying, I would far rather hear a cry from a child who is being disciplined than one who is just having a hissy fit.
I doubt you will ever be kicked off a flight, I have heard some TERRIBLE crying/screaming over the years and no move was made to remove the kids or have the parents do something other than gaze like contented cows. ( I doubt you do that). What is phenogran? I know that Orange Triaminic knocks them out. ;)
The powdered milk idea was GREAT, maybe you could do that and toss a little Nestles Quick in the mix. Make it a real treat.
I am sure you will figure this out, and who knows, perhaps by the time you fly these restrictions will be lifted.
Happy planning. :)

Be sure that the powdered milk is in its original, sealed packaging, both outbound and on return. Otherwise, the TSA agents might introduce you to their friends at the DEA. :)

LOL, good one!!!! :rotfl2:

While this is the approach I would originaly take. This summer while traveling iwth a 4 yr old I was told by the FA and the pople in front that my correcting him bothered them more than him fussing and kicking their seats etx. I had to let him misbehave to not be a prolem for them. His seat belt stayed aroung his neck as he kept slidding off the seat. I guess discipline is in the eyes of the beholder.

Obviously, I was not in front of you. LOL

I KNOW what my mother would have done in this situation, even if the bathroom on the plane is tiny, I would have been taken there for an "attitude adjustment". I don't KNOW what I would have done with mine. I never had the problem. I was VERY lucky and I guess they were too. LOL

Hmmm... I don't want to do a disservice here. While it is funny, and I did put in the smilely, I actually have some relevant personal experience.

I love powdered coffee creamer. Unless I make a grocery store stop on my way from the airport, I basically would have to do without for the week of our vacation. So I typically have brought some with me, in little 1"x1" plastic bags (so I can carry them into the park, in individual pre-measured servings).

BAD idea. I was searched and pulled out for further inspection. It was pretty scary. One of the TSA guys ending up saying it was the wrong color; otherwise, I don't know what they would have done with me while they were trying to figure out what I was "carrying".

I would hope that they would have sniffed it. Of course, if they use powdered creamer when they cut the stuff you might have been in for a long wait.
Sounds like it was a pretty upsetting occurance. I think the 1x1 bags are what set them off. :)

Definitely. I suspect if I had a 1 pound bag of the stuff, they'd be a little less likely to jump to the conclusion.

Are they even allowed to sniff it? Wouldn't that show up on their next drug test? :)

Not trying to break the rules, but how many of you moms of toddlers are going to try to pass cows milk for breast??? Will they buy it? What would you all do. If they are refusing to give out water to little ones for take off, I am considering a tiny white lie-- no pun intended..... One cup is all she needs.... I am a good parent and I make my child behave. She only brings on comfort toy she has had since 6mo, and her video now jr. That is all she needs---along with her milk. She usually falls asleep before take off, but no milk she will scream and act like a brat--- which in turn will embarrass me to death.... I mean I will die right there on that plane... You can not discipline
your child on a plane, or you will cause a scene ( plus it really isnt her fault, she is used to having her milk and is to young to understand why she cant ). So, what would you all do?

How long is your flight? Is it possible to give her something else to drink that can be obtained from the FA? First of all, I've always been able to get milk from the FA for my boys. It might be low fat, but it's milk just the same. One cup of low fat will not hurt a baby/child in need of whole milk. Just bring an empty sippy cup. If not, make sure that your DD knows that maybe she can't get the milk. Perhaps she can get "magic juice" from the FA since it's a trip to the "magical world of DIsney"? Unless she has strict doctor's orders that she can't drink anything but milk (to which that prescription idea is a great one), I wouldn't think it'd hurt her any to not have milk even for a six hour flight. I'm not flaming you at all! Just wondering if you've considered your options.

Good luck!

Only if they are tested for powdered creamer. ;)
