Between the BLs (Biggest Loser) Summer Challenge 2010 Part 2

Here's the damage for today. 1/2 a personal pizza split with Mike and some beer and half a cookie at the ballpark. Some more beer and some onion rings at BWs after the game. I feel better. I feel I got all the angst out of me and I'm ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow's run might be a little ugly, but that's ok.:goodvibes I think with the race coming up, and moving to maintain, I am so afraid of failing. But I guess really I am the only one who can decide what failing is. One big side trip from the wagon is not going to be the end of the world. It's just a day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.:goodvibes

Hey Rose thats the attitude! Im glad you enjoyed yourself last night and got it out of your system. Sometimes thats what we really need to do. You will hop back on the train today and move on from it.

Thanks to everyone for asking about me. I did read it, just no time to respond. I gain so much strength and motivation from you all, I honestly am sitting taller in my chair just from posting. No lie. Thank you, thank you, thank you.:grouphug:
Taryn

Taryn it sounds like you really just need a day to relax and unwind. Gosh if I would go like you do I would be tired too. Im glad you at least got some extra sleep last night. Dont forget to take care of yourself too.

Im glad you made some cash at the yard sale. I bet next week will be your big sale. That is great that you can hook onto the other sales going on in your area.

You have done so well with your weight loss this challenge, and that was even with a trip to disney. Feel proud of yourself.

I have the same problem too when I skip a week at the store. I find the not so good stuff that is left in the house and I get off track.

Im off to continue to clean my house. I think I am going to run later since once again I couldnt get out of bed this morning.:confused3 and here I sit :surfweb: I might pop my head out to see how warm it is right now and if its still cool I might attempt a run now. We'll see. Otherwise its an afternoon at my nana's so the kids can play with their cousins. Tomorrow my DS starts Kindergarten!!!!! I really am so excited for him.

Have a great Sunday.

You know, I forgot that in the middle of it I had to lose an extra 14 from WDW, so in all I lost 27, only 13 counts towards the goal, though! ;) Have a great day, hope your run works out.

DH had a meeting at church early, so he took AK so she wouldn't miss Sunday School. With Sophie, it's just playing in the nursery, so she needs the sleep after going to bed at 11 worse than nursery time. She's in the bed, I'm dressed and ready. Made my to-do list and grocery list, off to check the sale papers to see where I am going this evening. I'll do a stock up after pay day on Tuesday, for right now I just need to see what I need until then, coffee and Kashi bars being at the top of the list! For me, a to-do list is as productive as actually doing, especially when I have only about 15 minutes. It helps me get organized so the work is more productive!

Committing to posting often this week to stay on track, be forewarned! ;)

After a huge (HUGE!) splurge yesterday, I'm up 8 pounds from Friday morning weigh-in. And instead of hating myself, I laughed. I've learned that anytime I splurge or go on vacation or something, that's about the "gain" I see. It's off within a week, though, with regular healthy eating. That's the way my body rolls, I guess, and I can deal with it. In a way, I think it's better to have the scale shoot up like that. If I only gained "a pound or two" I'd be tempted to jump off the wagon more often because it wouldn't be "that bad", and it'd eventually add up. 8 pounds screams "woah! get back up there, girl!"

Hello everyone! I've been on vacation all week and totally forgot about the final weigh in! ARGH! I will weigh myself tomorrow....I ate horrible all week but I did manage to jog and go for bike rides (I hope that helps)...so how long between the challenges????? Thanks everyone!!!!!
Hope you have a good weigh in!

Thank YOU for YOUR words of wisdom! :sunny:
:goodvibes I don't know if it was wisdom, or just a moment of clarity!:goodvibes I plan on joining you back on the wagon today.:thumbsup2

Taryn-- I'm glad you got some sleep, even though I know you're sad about missing family time. If Brad were permanently on 3rd shift, I think that would be a much bigger deal, but it's almost over, and you all will getting back to a normal busy schedule instead of this crazy one soon! I just want you to survive it! Hope you all have a good day today.:goodvibes I think 147 is a good goal!:) It seems like the last 10 pounds were the hardest for me to wrap my brain around--I just really had trouble with the body image and figuring out what was what. We can both decide to change our goals later if we want.:goodvibes

Lindsey--hope you get your run in! Have fun with the kiddos today! And enjoy the first day of school! So exciting!

Hi all! Despite the overindulgences last night, we had a pretty good run. We ended up at 6 miles at 1:39:15. We slept in until 6:30! Since the sun is coming up later, we haven't had to get up as early. It's still in the 90s durning the day, but this morning it was only 72. Hope everyone has a good day today.:goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

Just a few minutes to post. I got in a 65 minute workout this morning. I was hoping for 75, but no complaints. I may go swimming today. It was about 75 yesterday and will be mid-90s today.

We went out for dinner last night. I had pizza too. It was probably the best pizza I've had in years. The scale was good to me this morning though. I guess all the exercising I've been doing is finally paying off. Hoping to start the next challenge with an unofficial loss.

Pjlla-You had me craving pizza too!

Donac-So glad the bathroom is all set!

Rose-Sounds like you are doing better! WTG on the run!

Carmiedog-WISH I should send you some of the pizza I had. Ugh. I feel bad for you. I took the girls next door out to a pizza place about a month ago. The grease was pouring off of it. I think I now know why they "weren't hungry." :rolleyes1

I also WISH my body was like yours and I gained 8 pounds after eating more than usual. (aka binge) Sometimes I lose. It's hard to keep the eating healthy mentality when you eat a pint of ice cream and your weight goes down. :goodvibes

Lisa-Can DS send some of his easy to shop for-ness to my sister? :rotfl2:

Lindsay-Nice job on the 5K run! You and your son will do great tomorrow! :goodvibes

Good to hear from you pinkle! Hope weigh-in went well!

Taryn-Glad you checked in! Good luck with round #2 of the tag sale! Hope you are feeling better! :goodvibes

Definitely check-in! I know it does me a world of good!

I feel so out of the loop. Between trying to get caught up with chores and being away camping. I have not weighed in this week, maybe I'll get a chance tomorrow. When does the next challenge start and is there a new thread?

Off topic: We're getting a brand new camper on Friday :cool1:

Congratulations on the new camper!:goodvibes The fall thread is up and running. Lisa is still encouraging everyone to post here, at least until the results come out. Sept. 3 is the day to pm starting weights to Shannon.

In case I sleep in tomorrow, and because I might not make it back on after work, I wanted to make sure to say:

Happy Birthday Connie!!!!!party:

Hope you had a great weekend, and that you have a wonderful birthday! :goodvibes

Hello friends!

Back from an awesome mini camping trip! We didn't want to leave today so ended up staying until 6:30. Kids spent most of yesterday and most of today in the water. DD1 has discovered kayaking and had an amazing time. DH and I went out this afternoon and can't wait to do it again! The weather was perfect. We made s'mores last night. I only eat the chocolate bar from that! I drank a whole bottle of wine by myself last night. We had burgers, hot dogs, sausages, buffalo wings, taco salad, potato salad and chips. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing two days. We didn't sleep outside. DD1 and another girl slept in a tent in the basement last night. The girls are the same age. The other girl lives about 40 minutes from here. We need to get them together more often.

We're exhausted as we both had trouble sleeping last night. DD2 tossed and turned a lot and I just kept waking up. I woke up early and took my book, Wicked, out and sat on the swing and read for at least an hour. It was actually a bit chilly so I had to get my sweatshirt out of the car.

I am soooo ready to get back on track tomorrow. Girls and I are going to stay here and clean and workout tomorrow. They want to go shopping but that will have to wait until next weekend! I'm not going to get up early but I will workout later. DD1 has her first soccer practice tomorrow night so I may walk/jog the track while she is there. I am also going to drink a lot of water! Alcohol on Saturdays only until I lose this next 15-20 pounds! I am going to to stick to it as I don't feel good about myself right now!

That being said! I will post on the new thread from now on!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend! See you all on BL10!

#1. Booked our WDW trip for next year today! We'll be at BLT over the 4th of July. I wanted to see the 4th fireworks once, and since I don't know my master's schedule, and won't until possibly too late, I figured that week would be safe. If not, they can stuff it! ;)

#2. Ate like a hog all day long! Seriously binged. Bad stuff. Oh well, tomorrow starts a new day!

#3. Sleeping too much last night = not sleepy tonight. I finished cleaning up the carport from the yard sale, cleaned the kitchen and de-cluttered den, did 2 loads of laundry, packed AK's lunch, made menus for the week, cooked a pork roast for bbq for the week, have chicken breasts in the crock pot now for meals.

Gotta make myself sleepy somehow. I am GOING to run in the am. Do you hear me? I am gonna do it! HAve my first class of the semester tomorrow night, girls are staying with mom, so I'll do my mopping and a bit more cleaning then. Thinking about curling up with a good book, even though I want to start planning WDW! ;)

See you in the am!

Happy Birthday Connie:bday:party::jumping1:

No running for 2 days = fresh legs. no running for 8 days = weak legs! ;)

It was slow, and my legs and glutes felt it, fo sho'! BUT - I feel amazing. Like I could take out Cruella, Ursula, and all the wicked stepmothers in one swift swoop! I've always heard that drug addicts are chasing that next high, and I feel that way. I'm plotting how early I have to get up, what I have to do, to run 4 or 5 times this week. Seriously. Wonder how long that will last.:lmao: Oh endorphins, how I have missed you!

Off to get ready! Have a wonderful day everyone!
Taryn

QOTD--Pamela got us started off on this question. As we finish up this challenge, what NSV (non-scale victories) have you achieved this summer or this year? Sometimes, I think the nsv are more exciting than seeing the scale move! I also think celebrating NSV can really help us with achieving a positive body image.
1. I am exercising regularly, even through the heat of summer.
2. My legs are firmer than they have ever been, and I felt like they looked better, but my younger, always thinner sister complimented me several times on them, so now I'm sure they look better.:rotfl:
3. I am not eating through my emotions all the time. When they say time does heal, it was a tough year, after I lost my mom, but I remember Jennz saying, you never really get over it, but you learn to live again without that person. It is true, and this summer, I'm doing ok again.
4. I can spend time with my family and do not have to eat everything that is put out in front of me.
5. I can exercise while I'm on vacation.

Thanks Rose for coaching last week, even though I wasn't here, it was great to read through and see everyone's answers to you qotds.
As we come to the start of a new challenge, what advice or wisdom would you share with someone just starting?Don't ever give up. Keep coming here for the inspiration and support which is endless, and know that this is a lifestyle change and change is hard and takes time.

I was doing a breast self exam, and thought I had felt a lump. IT WAS MY RIBS. :lmao:
:rotfl: Taryn, you crack me up.

The "WIN!" Challenge - "Whittle Inches Now!"

I have documented measurement preferences from Taryn, Lindsay, CC, Lisa, Bree and myself. If I missed any others, please holler at me so I can go back and pick them up.

I have gotten the most votes for:
bust , waist, hips, 1 thigh, 1 upper arm (you pick left or right; just stick with the same side when you measure again)

That's 5 measurements. Personally, I think this will be a great place to start. It's fairly simple and will, hopefully, interest as many newcomers as possible in the new challenge.

Please post any additional comments or suggestions this week so that we can nail this thing down as much as possible. Obviously, this can evolve, but I am hoping that we can keep it as consistent as possible so that the numbers hold up over the course of the Fall challenge.
That sounds great, Connie. I love the name WIN! Thank you for putting it all together.

Congratulations to all of us who have stuck it out through this entire challenge! :thumbsup2 I know that it seems like we are a pretty quiet group right now but actually we are finishing with about twice as many active people as last summer so I think that we are doing great.

I have the new thread up. I was working on it early this morning and not feeling too well, tummy upset, so it will need some fine tuning when I have fresh eyes. Luckily today is my day to stay home with DS so I can take it easy.
Hope you're feeling ok and were able to enjoy some down time with DS on your day home. Thank you so much for organizing these challenges for us all. I too, need the support and inspiration from everyone here, and know without all of you here, I would not be where I am today.

Changed my BMI from 34.8 (obese) to 30.4 (overwieght)
Lost >10% of my body weight which has already decreased my risk of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, etc.
I went from running a 5K in 42 minutes to 36:30
I have run 6.2 miles and didnt feel like dying afterwards
I am excited to run even farther....the fact that I have excited and run in the same sentence is an amazing accomplishment for me.
I fit into clothes that I havent been able to wear in awhile.
I actually have clothes that are too big instead of too tight
Awesome list to reflect on whenever you have one of those days. Nice work, Lindsay.

1I keep thinking of things to put on my "To Do" list and things I need to do -- I am in full vacation mode! :thumbsup2

Maria :upsidedow
Glad the shoulder is better and have a wonderful vacation.

Hershey Park was lots of fun! We kept getting frustrated at the layout though – it was very confusing and very hard to tell which coaster you were getting in line for since they all seem intertwined! We all at some point or another compared it to Disney, inefficient line control, confusing layout, rides not properly marked on the maps, entrances difficult to find, etc. We probably sounded like spoiled brats! But we had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and I left with about 5 lbs of chocolate! I bought most of it for my coworkers and brought it to work yesterday so at least it’s not in the house. Some is for gifts so I won’t be tempted to eat that, the rest is half DS’s and half mine. I’m going to portion my half out so when I want some I can get one baggie and that’s it.

Hair ended up looking awesome! I’ll try to get some decent pics and (try to figure out how to) post them. I am now a redhead :cool1: !
We are so spoiled by disney, aren't we. Love to see some pictures. Glad you like your new hair, Red. I'm a bit redder this time too. I do my own color, and couldn't find my usual cinnamon stick, so went with spiced tea because michael didn't want to go to a third store looking, and it was very red the first day, but it's settled down.

But really.... listen your your body. Do you have TRUE hunger symptoms? Growling tummy, light-headed, empty feeling, would like to eat almost ANYTHING? Then fill it! Grab a piece of fruit or a piece of cheese and fill that hungry belly? Not real hunger?? "Mental" hunger instead of physical hunger?? Find something else to do to distract you... take a walk, talk to a friend, post a fun quote on FB, come chat with us, make a bed, dust a room, reorganize a drawer.
Love this, pamela. I thought of you and you Good, Better, Best choices over the weekend a few times.

Some of you may be wondering why it takes me so long to work on these applications. Well, in Minnesota (it might be other states as well), most teacher applications have essay questions. The one I am currently working on has 12 essay questions :scared1: and it takes so much time to come up with good answers.
Wow, this sounds so painful. I can't even imagine having to do that, never mind with multiple applications. Hang in there, Jen. You are doing amazing, and 25 miles in a week!! Whoo hoo!!!

Sorry I haven't been on the last day or so. One of our bathrooms had some leakage. While they were working on the leak we asked them to look at the slow drain. 2 hours yesterday, 4 hours today, a wall cut out and some pipe cut out and the leak is still there and the drain is slower than ever. We have no idea how much it is going to cost but we need it fixed. They are even talking about breaking more walls down. Let's hope they can come up with something tonight and try it in the morning. We had water all over the breakfast nook this afternoon. I went to the farmer's market and was gone no more than 20 minutes and I came home to a mess that my dh had already cleaned up half of it. This is what you get when you have a 100 year old house. It will work out.
:hug:Hope the plumbing all works out.

I am a samer this week but with the tummy upset I was kind of expecting that. I am finishing down for the challenge and I am always happy when that happens.
Down is down, and down is good!! congrats on losing this summer!! Not an easy feat. I was down 4 pounds for the challenge, but after this weekend with my family, I'm up that same 4 today, but I know it's temporary. I got out and run/walked twice, and we hiked a mountain one morning which was a great workout, and though I could have eaten better, I did make many good choices, started most morning with yogurt and a banana, had a big salad one night. It was fun to visit with my family, and I did indulge big time one night on the blender drinks. My sister was nicknamed "auntie blender", so I think I did pretty well on that front.

So I am going to finish out this challenge strong and start our fall challenge even stronger. Lets go girls.....anyone with me?????:cheer2:
I am with you on the fall challenge!! We can do it!!!:cheer2:

In the next challenge, you will find that the COW has been changed to Healthy Habits. Also, based on all the feedback I got, I will be keeping with the 2 part format. The first part will still be for points but to simplify things, 2 of the 4 challenges will never change (drinking water and exercising). I will only change the 2nd 2 items. The second part will stick with a question or a request that does not require a week's worth of keeping points.

I will still be doing prizes and just got a big shipment in! For those of you who got the prizes, they will be similar (magnets, notecards, paper, etc) but I have new some new sayings and new designs. All of it is still Disney themed and hopefully will bring a bit of Disney happiness to people.

The COW/Healthy Habits is for all of you....so if you think of any other suggestions or changes, please share with me so that I can continue to be sure it is what you all want to see!
Thank you Jen, for all yourhard work on the cow. The prizes really are so fun and it's very sweet of you to do that for all of us.

Shannon- Thank you so much for being our awesome weightkeeper.

Thank you to everyone here, for the support and inspiration that you share every day. It's so nice to know that we are not alone and are always here for each other.

We are off to WDW in a few hours!!! I did the scavenger hunt this morning and as Michael was following the clues, he said, "they could be a little harder, mom" :rotfl: and when he got to the final clue, a wdw shirt and donald hat, he thought that was the prize. I had to egg him on to figure out that we were going. I said, Look at the shirt, what does it say? He was like, "wdw, no way, you're kidding" I said " no, I'm not" but he didn't believe me, "where are the suitcases?". He didn't believe me until he went in the basement and saw them for himself, and then he got teary, with "happy tears" and gave me a big hug, but he still asked a couple more times to make sure it wasn't a prank. :rotfl: I showed him the tickets and emails from disney.

I'll be back to see the Summer Biggest Loser next monday and I"ll see you all for the fall challenge!!

Taryn--so glad you got a run in.:goodvibes I hear you on the chasing endorphins. I think that's part of the reason why I was going nuts on Saturday. After a good 40 minute sweat I felt so much better! We're tapering this week, but I'm only taking off completely on Wednesday and Friday. I AM GOING TO CUT BACK! I have to keep telling myself this. I will not overdo it on my runs. I will not get on the elliptical today. I will not use weights for the leg exercises at strength tonight. I will not workout on Weds and Friday. There I said it, so now I have to stick with it!:thumbsup2

I've started posting on the new thread a little bit. Am I the only one who has trouble with change? :rotfl: It's pretty bad when changing threads stresses you out a little bit. This is something I need to work on!

Ok, you all have a good day!

Oh Kathy!!! That's such a nice story! Have a wonderful time!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!:goodvibes

Have a great time, Kathy! What a great surprise for him! That was like when we gave Ash the trip to SWW for her birthday last year! She didn't get it at first and then burst into tears she was so excited!

Heading down to visit my elliptical which has been catching a lot of dust and been ignored for quite awhile now! Hope it will be nice to me!

Slept really well though kept waking up worrying that DH wouldn't wake up for work. I didn't want to set the alarm. Girls are still sleeping and probably will for a long time this morning! They were wiped out totally last night!

Have a great MOnday! See you on the BL10!

Good Morning!

My neighbor called last night and asked if I wanted to join her for a bike ride. Now, the last time I rode a bike, it wasn't pretty so I was just a bit nervous. But, I did great! And, added 35 minutes of exercise time to yesterday. :thumbsup2

I have just a few minutes to reply and then I have to get a few things done. My mom left some laundry mid-load so I have to finish that and then there's a few odds and ends that I need to do before my sister and my brother-in-law come over.

my3princes-Enjoy your new camper!

Tracey-Sounds like a great trip!

Taryn- In the words of pjlla, "Today is a new day." WTG getting in a run! I'm sure your next one will be better. Please, though, don't overdo it.

Kathy-Have a wonderful trip! Michael is adorable! What a great way to surprise him!

Rose-Have a great day too!

Ok, you all have a good day!

Lots of running plans seem to call for tapering so I am sure it is an important part of getting ready for a race but it sounds hard -- why do I have to slow down when I am ready to go, go, go?!? :confused3 You can do it, Rose, and your legs will thank you this week-end! :flower3:

There are a lot of new people on our new challenge. They are probably a lot more nervous about chatting with us than we are about chatting with them. It will be fast and furious for the next few weeks as the challenge starts but it is a lot of fun, too! :cool2:

CC, sounds like a great day exercising yesterday!

Today is the first day of school so I am flying by. Middle school starts more than an hour earlier so I am sure there will be some grumpiness. With orchestra after school DS will be at school from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. That is a long day for an 11 year old. Thank goodness we won't be having any fights about what to wear! ;)

Have a great day all!

now that final weigh-in is over, I blew it today with an all-out pig-out. DH is going out to eat tonight, so I think I'll top off the day by ordering pizza for me and the kids, and grabbing some jack daniels lemonade (me only!). I haven't had pizza in forever, and I only have a few drinks a year. By tomorrow morning I'll have a huge bellyache to recover from, then I'll get back on track Monday. only feeling a little guilty since I'll be under the pressure of the next challenge in another week.

update: had pizza delivered, and it was ugh. guess that's a good thing since it totally killed my craving. the lynchburg lemonade is going down just fine, though!

update 2: feel like puking (from too much crap food - I only had one drink, in case anyone gets the wrong idea, lol!). I totally wasn't feeling the dieting thing anymore. now I can't wait to get back to healthy eating!

Hope you are feeling better. That is your body's way of asking for healthier foods, I suppose!

I have been beating myself up all week. I did very little this summer to get myself in better shape. My eating has been pretty good but my workouts have been sporatic all summer because of the heat. I want to get thinner and get some new clothes but that didn't happen. I too am feeling like I want to eat anything and everything in sight. Luckily there is not much to eat in the house since I didn't go grocery shopping this week.

Bathroom is FIXED. Now we need to fix the wall in the bathroom and the wall in our bedroom. Dh has time in the next couple of weeks to do it. We go back to school on Wednesday. Dh has inservice on Wed, meets with his classes on Thurs and Fri, has a 3 day weekend for Labor Day, then has 2 days of classes and then has a 4 day weekend for the Jewish holydays. SO he has enough time in the next couple weeks to work on it without rushing.

Ds2 went back to school this morning. One of his books were ordered on Amazon two weeks ago and it still has not come in. He went to the book store and got another copy. It is for his first class on Wednesday and this prof is supposed to be a pain about things like that. And ds is one of those kids who has to have everything in place before classes start. Now I have to put more money on his account.

I spent the day working on wallhanging that needs to be delivered tomorrow. It is a challenge for my quilt shop. You needed to use a fabric that the shop had made for them. The winner gets a gc to the shop. It also gave me a chance to try some things that I haven't done before. The quilts will hang in the shop for the month of September.

Off to finish the edge of the wallhanging,

Have a great evening.

Glad the plumbing problems are solved. Maybe this might be an opportunity to redecorate as you fix things up??

Love to see a picture of the quilt!!

Thanks you Dona, and Pamela and Jen. You all know just what to say and you made me smile! Dona, so glad the bathroom is fixed. Jen, glad you liked the spreadsheet. And Pamela I love your splurge reason! I really think I have kept with it this time because I have some place to go when I just want to quit! It made me feel so much better to know I am not the only one who feels like this sometimes! The funny thing about the bacon, is I don't eat meat! I think I am going to have a little splurge tonight at the game, and get up and go run my 6 miles tomorrow.

I worked out at the Y for 40 min and that helped my mental state immensely. So we're running tomorrow, I'm going to go ahead and do strength on Monday, running 4 miles Tuesday, off Wednesday, 3 miles Thursday, off Friday, race Saturday. Never more than a day off, so I won't go crazy, but still a decent taper.

Oh, and Pamela--if you ask questions, I'll answer them! It's going to be a stressful week, so I'm happy for the distraction!

Have a nice evening!

Glad the workout made you feel better! Questions to follow!

:lmao: Sorry about that! Guess I need to read a little bit s-l-o-w-e-r!

Absolutely feel free to post some QOTD! Thanks for offering!

pjlla, Rose and Jen, you guys are the last folks I would ever expect to backslide and end up where you started again. I think after working so hard to get to where you are that it is hard to believe that you will stay there but if anyone can do it, it is you, ladies!

We did have success with the pants. Kohls is having a big sale so we got some bargains. DS has to wear a uniform now. He made it even easier by deciding only to wear khakis, even though he is allowed navy blue pants as well. Next he will probably ask me to buy just one color shirt. Boys are so easy clothes wise.

Have a great evening all!

Boys are SO easy, aren't they!? DS wasn't even WITH me when I bought his school clothes. He only has two requirements... no distressed jeans and nothing plaid. SO EASY!

I did the same thing today. I was home by myself and watching tv so I decided to make a pizza (at least it was a little healthier than ordering out). I ended up eating half of the darn pizza. It was small and only 8pts but still it was disgusting and I felt gross after eating it. I guess it will teach us to not eat it for awhile.

I was feeling so tired and exhausted all day today. We got back from shopping later than I had hoped. I was going to skip my run but decided I needed to get it in. It was getting dark so I planned on doing a 5K. I really pushed myself and finish in 33:16. I was so excited. This was by far my fastest yet. The last race I did in June was 37:30. Tomorrow I am going to try to get up and do a longer run early since it is going to be in the mid 90's. I still have some more work to do around the house and also need to get the kids haircuts.

I will check in with you all sometime tomorrow. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

What do you use for pizza crust? Something homemade or store bought?

Nice job on the 5K time!

Lindsey and Lisa--thank you for the words of wisdom.:goodvibes

Have a good night.

You are SO right... it is just ONE DAY! As long as you start fresh the next day, you are all set!!

Hello everyone! I've been on vacation all week and totally forgot about the final weigh in! ARGH! I will weigh myself tomorrow....I ate horrible all week but I did manage to jog and go for bike rides (I hope that helps)...so how long between the challenges????? This has been so great, My weight hasn't gone down too much but it does keep me focused!
Thanks everyone!!!!!

Hope the weigh-in isn't too bad. Good for you for getting right back to it.

PIZZA LAST NIGHT HERE,TOO!!! And Lindsay - GREAT TIME ON YOUR 5K!!!!

OK,ready for the Taryn's been MIA book? :lmao:

#1. Yard Sale. Labor Day weekend is huge for yard sales here.

#2. I have been really, really tired and not feeling great. Not running, but running around has taken a toll on me!

#3. Food. I decided 2 weeks ago that we would not buy anymore groceries, other than milk, and just use up what was in the house. BIG MISTAKE. a bit lately. Grabbing things I know I shouldn't, b/c they are there.

#4. Weight. I think I maintained. I have an old scale (dial type) that I got on, not my normal one as there are still boxes on top of it. It looks like 155, so I'm going to report that. That was yesterday. I feel bloated and miserable today.

#5. Mental. My house, that I worked so hard to clean, is an absolute wreck, which is adding to my mental yikes!

#6. Exercise. Save 2 strength workouts, no formal exercise. I kept telling myself that hauling all the stuff from our storage building, bringing tables down from school, etc. was exercise. I have to figure out a way to get at least 3 runs in this week. SOMEHOW! No running for a week has left me in a funk.

#7. I have not been posting, just lurking a bit, not keeping up with COW, and not journaling. All bad habits that must be eradicated.

So, there you have it. I said I wasn't going to whine anymore. I needed to get all that off my chest, and I feel better since as I did it I came up with a plan for fixing it all.
Taryn

Isn't that why we are all here? To help and to listen and to SHARE our problems/concerns/issues??! Like we all told Rose, we are here to listen, no matter what kind of a WHINER you might think you are! :rotfl:

A plan is exactly what I would have suggested!! Glad you came up with one. Put it in writing, on the fridge, or where ever you will see it. Put stickers on it, check marks, whatever it takes to make you feel in control.

Hey everyone! I am mixed again.

TARYN

BLT at July 4th....:woohoo: can you put me in your suitcase???

Taryn

You planned it, you shared it, you accomplished it!! WTG!!

:We are off to WDW in a few hours!!!

Awww... the story is sweet! If you haven't left already, I hope you have a SUPER-DUPER, MAGICAL time!!

Well, happy Monday morning everyone! I had all of my replies typed up and got to this point and everything went POOF!! :badpc: I know it is something on the keyboard I am hitting when I try to hit shift. Need to figure out what. Since I had to go back and retype everything, now I need to move along quickly!!

Anyhow, I had a small disaster on the eating front yesterday, but I am DETERMINED not to let it put me in a funk all day!! I have used ALL of my Flex points for the week (and then some), so it will be a hungry week for me... and I will need to stick to a good food/exercise plan to even maintain this week (especially considering where I am in my "cycle"). But I WILL write up a plan, I WILL post it on the fridge, and I WILL stick with it, come hell or high water!! It started with breakfast.... I skipped my usual morning hot beverage (1 point) for a cup of green tea. I only ate 2 points and will have another point of protein about mid-morning to spread out food better. I have all of my dinner meals for the week pre-planned, so I will have to look at the menu and see if there are any nights that will be difficult and work around them. Tonight's salmon burgers and salad will be easy. I'll just skip the bun.

Anyhow.... on to today's unofficial QOTD!! Feel free to skip it or give one word answers or go on and on about it... it is up to you. It is just kind of a "get to know each other better" type of thing.
