Better view for animals - Boma or Sanaa?

We were planning on dinner at Sanaa for our next trip, but we're now bouncing around the idea of trying Boma instead. Part of the appeal for doing Sanaa with our kids would be the views of the animals. Food aside, which restaurant has the better view for the kids as well as ambiance?

Boma has next to not view of animals while eating. However, it is probably the BEST buffet at WDW.
If you like Indian inspired food, Sanaa is VERY good. We really enjoyed it.
However, for a buffet, Boma cannot be beat.
Plan enough time to truely enjoy Boma and walk around the Savannah after the meal. Its worth it. We have done Breakfast and Dinner and enjoyed both. They have the standard buffet food plus more adventurous food.
However, at AKL, Jiko cannot be beat, if you want the best they have.

There is zero chance of seeing any animals from Boma. Our first time at Sanaa, we had a giraffe outside our window almost the whole time. It was amazing! Our second time, I think we maybe saw one bird. However, it is easy to walk out on the savanna before or after either meal.

To truly see and appreciate the animals you must go outside to the savannas (at both restaurants). I enjoy Boma. As Many have stated it's the best buffet at WDW.

As others have said, Sanaa is the only restaurant with a potential view of animals during daylight hours. I’d go with the menu that is most appealing and then plan to spend extra time either before or after your meal -or both- enjoying all the resort has to offer. There are multiple savannah overlooks with cast members available to answer questions- there’s even a spot with night vision goggles after dark- as well as various activities like pin trading, playing drums, a little parade etc. that your kids might enjoy. The May activity calendar is linked below. It’s an amazing resort. We love Jiko (haven’t tried Boma or Sanaa) and always make an evening out of it, exploring the resort.

My suggestion would be Boma. Make a 6 or 6:30 reservation get to Jambo house around 5 and head out to the main viewing area. For that fact both sides of the resort feed the Animals around that time so they are very active. I like the viewing area at Jambo better as it is much larger but I have seen some better activity at Kidani as the area in front is more open. FYI all the Savannahs are connected so if you guessed around at the time the room views will be of mostly empty savannahs unless you are lucky enough to a room near the main lobby you would be correct.

Sanaa is wonderful and you may see animals, but not all of the tables are by the window. So, if the goal is to see animals, head over before your meal at either restaurant and enjoy the outside viewing areas.
