I do apologize, as I feel like I am hogging this board!!:surfweb: I'm just trying to gather as much info as possible to present a good case to my DF soi we can have my dream WDW wedding!!

I was wondering if you had to choose a value season, which one would you think is the best time to hold an Escape wedding?

By best, I mean great weather, cheap resort rates, low crowds, any other extra beauty that goes on during that time period.

Please complete the poll and let me know the reasoning behind your much valued answer and any specific or narrowed down weeks within that season.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

I voted Jan to FEb because the the weather is absolutely amazing. We went in January before and it is perfect.parks are practically empty,we just ran onto the rides, never waited. The weather is like spring weather, perfect.it wasn't humid out at all!!!!

Second choice would be nov dec just because with the decorations and all.I really want to go down this year during christmas season.

I chose Jan-Feb. We just went to Disney Jan 5-11th and not only was the weather perfect (maybe jacket at night) but there were no crowds. There were A LOT of Brazilians there though, as I think this may be their time for summer. So do be ready for huge clusters of people. If you stay away from the rides that they get on, you shouldn't have to wait a long time to get on rides. Make sure that you DO NOT plan your wedding near New Year's. The crowds are horrendous. Make sure you at least wait until a week after, so that everyone vacationing at that time has left.

we are getting married sept 2nd, thats not an option to vote so couldnt sorry!

we had our planning session on 4th feb and the weather was good

I chose Nov. 30-Dec. 18. DH and I went on our honeymoon in December and the weather was amazing and the Christmas decorations are abslutely beautiful.

I live in Orlando and have mixed feelings about all the times of the year (and the weather b/c it's so unpredictable from year to year here, except that August will be HOT HOT HOT HOT...and Sept. usually is too) but I bet if you called your Disney Wedding Planner, even if you don't have one yet and wanted to ask, they could tell you their opinions and statistics!

Looks like the poll is pretty close right now, between Jan/Feb & Nov/Dec.

We are leaning towards Jan/Feb dates so far. I LOVE Nov/Dec because of the Christmas decorations, but DF made a good point that it's a crazy time of year to expect our friends and family to plan the trip since it's smack in the middle of the holidays and a hectic time of year. In January, all the holiday stress has subsided, so it's a bit easier to get away and enjoy a wedding. I guess this makes sense to me. Nov/Dec time frame is kind of a chaotic time of year.

If we did an early January, would we still get to see some of the Christmas decorations or do they come down right after New Years? what about those pretty Christmas lights on the castle? Is it still mega crowded the week after New Years? Also, does Mickey's Very Magical Christmas Party, by any chance have any events right after New Years? Probably not, huh? I've always wanted to go to this and see Main St. with real snow!! :)

Any weeks within that time frame that you would recommend? Any weeks within that time frame you would avoid due to crowds and such?

Thanks everyone!! :goodvibes

Woops just noticed this post!! So, if we did January, we should avoid 1/1-1/7.
Good to know....my guess is the Christmas decorations will be gone by then, huh? I guess I can live with that-low crowd is more important. What about the Christmas lights on the castle? Anyone know how long those stay up till?

Thanks! We love spring type weather & I can't stand humidity so this sounds great! Do you remember the dates you stayed & if the Castle lights were still up?

I've been in January for the past 5 years. It often gets REALLY cold - like gloves and coat cold. Although I think the past two years it's been a bit warmer.
We were married in October which I think might also be value season?
The weather was perfect and the crowds were pretty light - except for at MNSSHP.

Also F&W is going on in October over at Epcot. From the DVC standpoint, it's a popular time to go.

I think October is Premium time for weddings so the weekends will have the higher minimum.

Hi there. We were married on Dec. 11th and it was beautiful!!! The weather was perfect and everything was decorated for Christmas. We were able to enjoy all the shows, dinners, and decorations without the crowds. If you love Christmas, that is the time to go. Good luck!! :goodvibes

We went the 5th through the 11th and they were just starting to take decorations down. The 5th was the last night for the Osborne Festival of Lights at Hollywood Studios, and they were still lighting the trees in the resorts the last day we were there! :woohoo:

I love that time of year, we got rained on 3 times, only once was really bad though, and it is not a cold rain at all.
