Better Subs Than Subway?

Make them. :)

We got a long sub loaf from Publix, a quarter pound of Boar's Head honey maple turkey, four slices of Meunster cheese, a tomato, and used some lettuce from a salad bag all for around $10-$12 and they are MUCH tastier than anything at Subway - and you can prepare them with all the love you want.

But my favorite in town is Firehouse. Love those steamed subs.

We have the $5 footlongs too, but they have a very limited menu. None of the things my kids or I like is on the $5 menu.

Ours is limited too, DBF and I usually get a footlong pastrami and share, that one is not on our $5 menu. The girls love the Spicy Italian (pepperoni & salami) so they get that and share it.

Who has better sub sandwiches than Subway?

DH and I have always liked Subway, but their prices are getting a bit high. We each got a footlong club sub last night (I hate half mine and saved the other half for lunch today) and it was a little over $14. A little more than what we would like to spend on two sandwiches. They weren't even specialty sandwiches, those cost even more!

And they are getting skimpy on their meats. Putting less on than they used to, and the roast beef slices were about half the size they used to be. :(

There are no other sub sandwich shops in town, but I think there is a Quiznos place in a nearby town, maybe we should give them a try.

What other places have better, and less expensive, subs than Subway does?

MIGrandma - aren't you gluten-free? I thought you had posted that a while back?

We don't have any Subways close by and Quizznos are at least an hour away, the others I've never heard of. I ordered D'Angelos today, three subs = $18.75:eek: Actually, two were pita pockets, one a chicken stirfry the other vegetarian with cheese, and one was about an 8" (M) steak n' cheese. Now I know why I haven't ordered subs in over a year! We could have had :laughing:chinese take-out for that price

I don't mind Subway and we still have $5 footlong on limited one, plus I have a coupon card that gets me buy one get one on 6inch subs if that is what we want.

But the sandwich place I really love it Spicy Pickle! Yummy!
