Better late than never! Disney Magic Western-April 18-25 UPDATE-9/6

.................CONT................

I suggested after that maybe we should go to the deck and get some fresh air. We walked over to Goofy's and I got some ice cream....only thing I really ate all day. I had to be careful out on deck though because if I looked out and saw the water rushing past us, it just made it worse. Even looking out at the horizon was bad because I could still see the water below me. Ugh horrible.

cruise778.jpg

As we were sitting, we saw these guys walk by with chairs to set up for the wedding!

cruise779.jpg

Me with what little ice cream I could eat.

We ate and then went back to the cabin to sleep. I really really didn't want to miss Disney Dreams that night but I knew I wasn't enjoying myself anymore. No more faking it. This was bad. Jason had run out of Aloe at that point and he was burning pretty bad so I got up with him and walked over to the store out by the Walt Disney Theatre. Inside, I started looking at the pharmaceutical counter. They seriously had all kinds of stuff for sea sickness! Why didn't I think of that before? I already had every medication they were selling.....

.....but then.....

..... like a lightning bolt from the sky.....

....there they were........

....a pair of the ugliest sweat band looking things I had EVER seen.........

You could hear the angel choir singing......."Ooooahhoooohaaoohooo...." :rotfl2:

I bought the stupid bands for $11 bucks, went back to the room, put them on, and VOILA!

I was healed within 5 minutes NO JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Then I called them my Richard Simmons bands the rest of the cruise! :worship:

I got up with 15 minutes to spare, got ready for Semi-Formal night, and ran over to the Walt Disney Theatre for Disney Dreams! (I don't have any pictures from it...)

cruise789.jpg

cruise785.jpg

Semi formal night was in Lumiere's...

As I got to the table and met up with our friends, I told them that I felt like Richard Simmons on Prom night! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

cruise780.jpg

We had lobster for dinner! Jason got the light fare steak as well so he could say he had "Surf and Turf!" :rotfl2:

cruise781.jpg

We also celebrated our Anniversary that night as did our table mate friends! We were on our 2nd Anniversary and they were on their 1st!

The crew sang us a song and gave us a cake....

cruise782.jpg

cruise783.jpg

Of course we already had a huge meal and dessert so we weren't hungry at all! We had Dennis package it up for us and this is what he came back with........

cruise784.jpg

Haha!!!!

....................CONT...............

............CONT...........

cruise786.jpg

After dinner, we walked around to take pictures with some cute backdrops! This is me showing off my miraculous healing Richard Simmons sweat bands! :)

cruise787.jpg

lol

While we were walking around and taking pictures, we ran into Jenny (coconutsunshine) and Sean. I got a picture of the two of us....

cruise788.jpg

A few of our Shutters photos....

cruise792.jpg

cruise791.jpg

I like the one with the sunset! :0)

cruise790.jpg

Waiting for us when we got back to our room. We went to sleep and I FINALLY dreamed happy dreams RS bands still firmly around my wrists........ :rotfl2:

Up next: Castaway Cay day!

LOL - I have to tell you, during out 2nd cruise - I was sick to my stomach, I had to leave Animator's Palate (my favorite!) to go back to our cabin to lay down...I was really going to heave right there in the middle of the dinning room. Then, DH went to the store and got me those very same atrocious "RS Sweat Bands" you mentioned, to see if they'd help. I gave him an earful for 'wasting' $11 on some ugly bands that I was NOT going to wear and would probably not work. Low and behold - like you said, 5 minutes later, it was as if I was never sick at all. Every motion that made me ill just disappeared! I HUGGED my DH and told him how greatfull I was of him and his ingenious idea of these (still atrocious) bands.

But just my luck, because I complained that they were $11, I LOST one in the laundry the next night, and for furture reference, one band doesn't work the same. :headache: So I had to ask DH to go spend, yet another $11 for another pair. :rolleyes1

Now every cruise, we are prepared, I get them ahead of time from our local pharmacy (for less than half that price!) and pack a couple 'just in case' bands. :dance3:

LOVE your TR - can't wait to continue reading!

LOL I'm glad they worked for you too! Aren't they just amazing little things?! Sorry you lost one and had to buy another pair!!! I think it's smart to buy a few just incase ahead of time and not have to spend the $11 on the ship for them!

Thanks so much for following along!

Thank you! No way jose am I pregnant! :rotfl2: No offense...don't worry! I hope you can make it onto the magic as well! It's an amazing ship! :0)

More on the way....

Oh ok lol, you kinda almost had the full symptoms. But hey thats good. Yea it is. Especially since its a DCL :) I can't wait.

I don't travel without my sea bands! I took them off in the middle of a flight once, thinking I was ok, and NOPE! Had to put them right back on. I love that they work without medicating me (and having to deal with potential side effects). Glad to hear you felt better in time for Castaway Cay...can't wait to hear about your final day...

Hey Karen, what an awesome update!!!:goodvibes I love the character pictures, as always. It is such a shame that you were so sick but thank God for your Richard Simmons wristbands. Yeah!!! Acutally you have given me some hope, I have not added going on a Disney Cruise to my bucket list because I am afraid I will be sick, but now you have given me a new hope. I am so glad you found them and that they healed you right away. The character breakfast looks awesome and your pictures that they took are amazing. Plus your pictures as always are so great!!! I can't wait to read all about Castaway Cay, that is just the coolest place, at least it looks that way from the pictures I have seen so I can't wait to see and read all about it!!! Your the best!!!:goodvibes

Those bands are great!!

I used to get motion sickness in cars when I was younger and it helped me!

Hey Karen thanks for a fab trippie so far :love:

Aren't Sea Bands wonderful things!!! I lost the whole first evening of our last 4 night Wonder Cruise wih seasickness  so this year I've got three pairs packed just in case.

I have really enjoyed your TR. Especially the details for your Cozumel and Grand Cayman days. And, I always get queasy on the first night of our cruises and end up taking half a bonine. I'm going to pack a bunch of those bands for my family and me instead! Great to hear they have worked for so many people!!!

Looking forward to the rest of your TR. Thanks!!!

Really glad you managed to get something to solve your nausea. I'm getting some of those bands for our cruise!!!!

Keep the updates coming.

Friday, April 24, 2009 - Castaway Cay day!!!

I knew regardless of how bad I felt the days before, I was running the Castaway Cay 5K no matter what!!!! We met out by the dock first thing that morning.

cc5k1.jpg

cc5k2.jpg

There were about 10 or so of us who met up to run the 5K. As we were standing there, we saw these guys walk by! :0)

cc5k3.jpg

Off we go!

cc5k4.jpg

Our group!

cc5k8.jpg

cc5k9.jpg

This was everyone leaving me behind in the dust! lol! My legs were like total JELLO by this point! It was awful and I felt terrible!!!! So I hoped I was on the right path...all by myself!

cc5k10.jpg

I stayed on the bike path the entire time and as I was nearing the end, two wonderful ladies met up with me and walked the rest of the way with me! It was awesome to have company and at least I wasn't finishing last and all by myself! lol!

cc5k5.jpg

There we are!

cc5k6.jpg

cc5k7.jpg

Worn out but ready to have fun!!!

After the run was over, we went back on the ship for me to change. We saw this in the hallway and I thought it was funny!!

cruise795.jpg

Hehe!

...................CONT......................

...............CONT................

cruise794.jpg

I changed and we got back on the Island as fast as we could. It was as we were walking back out on the dock that I realized we had booked the Castaway Cay Ultimate package and I had scheduled our Sting Ray tour for 10:00 a.m. By that time, it was already 10:30 a.m! I didn't even pay attention at all. So I panicked and we went BACK on the ship to talk to Guest Services. They then sent us to Marges Barges or something like that right off the dock to see what we could do. Well they couldn't help us either so we got on the tram since it was there to take us to the sting ray tour building to change our times. UGH so frustrating!

cruise796.jpg

The Post office!

cruise797.jpg

cruise798.jpg

A few images of the island

cruise799.jpg

Arrgh! Haha!

cruise800.jpg

cruise801.jpg

I thought this was funny! lol!

cruise802.jpg

cruise803.jpg

Mount Rustmore

cruise804.jpg

cruise805.jpg

We finally made it to Ray's Stingray adventure and we got our time changed to 2:30 p.m. That building was WAY the heck across the island oh my gosh we walked so far! lol! So after all of that, it was right at 11:15 a.m. and we stopped at Cookies BBQ to eat lunch!

cruise809.jpg

cruise810.jpg

cruise808.jpg

cruise807.jpg

Jason's plate lol

cruise806.jpg

My plate! OMG I WAS SO HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

....................CONT.........................

......................CONT.......................

CC was a very productive day!

After we ate, we decided to use part of our Getaway package and ride bikes!

cruise812.jpg

cruise813.jpg

cruise814.jpg

The bike path was really neat! This was pretty much the same path I had run that morning.

cruise815.jpg

The strangest feeling to me was the fact that the ground wouldn't stop moving and it wasn't making me sick. Usually, if the ground is moving, I'm so nauseated that I can't even walk. So strange...really wierd feeling!

cruise817.jpg

cruise818.jpg

cruise819.jpg

I don't think we'd rent bikes again but it was fun to do once!

cruise820.jpg

cruise821.jpg

cruise831.jpg

cruise832.jpg

We rode over to the lookout tower

cruise822.jpg

It was neat seeing CC from that high up!

cruise823.jpg

cruise824.jpg

cruise825.jpg

cruise826.jpg

Silly Disney prop!

cruise827.jpg

cruise828.jpg

cruise829.jpg

cruise830.jpg

cruise833.jpg

After riding the bike path, we took another turn and ended up on this strip that led us to the ocean. It was so beautiful and so peaceful! We went by Serenity Bay!

cruise834.jpg

cruise835.jpg

cruise836.jpg

cruise837.jpg

I could have stayed there forever!

cruise838.jpg

cruise839.jpg

A massage cabana at Serenity Bay

cruise840.jpg

After the bike ride, we retunred the bikes and just hung out until our stingray time. We definitely didn't have enough time to go all the way to Serenity Bay and back so we found a quiet area and layed there just basking in the wonderfulness of it all.

Honestly, I think we were in the Teen beach but no one said anything to us! lol!

cruise841.jpg

The part we were in literally had no one in it!

cruise842.jpg

Heaven

cruise843.jpg

This really is paradise!

cruise844.jpg

cruise845.jpg

Before too long, it was time for our Stingray Adventure! lol!

cruise846.jpg

cruise847.jpg

Most of these were taken with crappy underwater camera sorry for the bad pictures!

cruise862.jpg

Talking about different kinds of stingrays

cruise863.jpg

This is what they are trained to find. When they see this, they know food is coming! lol!

cruise848.jpg

I did not know that!

cruise849.jpg

cruise850.jpg

cruise851.jpg

It is a LONG walk to get to this place and you can't make it by tram so you really do walk a lot!

cruise852.jpg

cruise853.jpg

Here we go!

cruise854.jpg

cruise855.jpg

The water was COLD

cruise856.jpg

cruise857.jpg

Petting the stingray

cruise859.jpg

Getting ready to feed the stingray

cruise858.jpg

They just sucked the food right up!

cruise861.jpg

Jason feeding

....................CONT.........................

.....................CONT....................

cruise860.jpg

After we fed, we just kind of swam around for a little while taking pictures and then we were done! It was fun but I don't know that I'd do it again. It really was more geared towards kids...well what do you expect, it's Disney!

cruise864.jpg

After the swim, we walked around some more and then went shopping!!!!!

cruise865.jpg

We also found the ice cream dispenser EMPTY but they were able to squeeze a little cookies and cream out for me! lol!

cruise866.jpg

Jason and I shared

cruise867.jpg

He also hurt his foot! While he was doing the "Stingray Shuffle" in the water, he shuffled right into a rock!!

cruise868.jpg

After our ice cream, we had about an hour left before time was up so we decided to head to Serenity Bay

I wish wish wish we would have had more time here! Oh well next time, we'll just go straight there! lol!

cruise869.jpg

We took the tram since we had done so much walking already!

cruise870.jpg

We layed here for forever. Literally. I loved it. It was so quiet and peaceful and the sound of the ocean...yeah....if this is what Heaven is like, then I won't complain one bit! lol!

cruise871.jpg

cruise872.jpg

cruise873.jpg

By this point, most of the adults had left so there were just a few lying around like we were!

cruise874.jpg

Before too long, our CC day was over. That was the best day of the cruise IMO! I LOVED it and would redo every minute of it!

cruise875.jpg

cruise876.jpg

Waiting on the tram

cruise878.jpg

Employees basketball

cruise877.jpg

cruise879.jpg

A desserted CC! :0(

cruise890.jpg

cruise891.jpg

cruise892.jpg

We took a few more pictures then got on board

cruise893.jpg

cruise894.jpg

cruise895.jpg

I would HATE to work in the laundry room with all of those towels!!!!

cruise896.jpg

Our towel animal collection

cruise897.jpg

Then we got ready for dinner and packed up our suitcases to put outside the door. I couldn't believe that our trip was already over when I was finally feeling better!! :0(

Up next: Last night show and dinner!

Minnie!! :0) She fell in love with my shirt! She kept pointing at it and then pointing at Jason...lol it was cute!!!

Awww...that is the saddest part of our cruise, when we have to put our luggage outside our door. Just by doing that makes me feel like the vacation is over all too soon.

Love the hammock pics! Too cute. :lovestruc I can't believe the bike path goes out THAT far! You guys got some great shots.

Minnie!! :0) She fell in love with my shirt! She kept pointing at it and then pointing at Jason...lol it was cute!!!
So we have the same Eeyore swimsuit, and we both have that glass slipper tank too! We have very good taste in clothes, LOL.
