better deal from DVC

A listing in atimeshare.com (ID#18) lists 50 Vero points for 2003, December use year, for $65 a point. No banked or borrowed points! There are probably closing costs as well. Disney will sell you the same 50 points for $69 per point with no closing costs and you can get your points before December. I think, on small add ons, DVC is the best place to purchase. Agree?

Is that for real? I thought with the buy back of $15 a point for VB, it had to be a minimum of 100 points? ??

I just bought 50 points at $69.00 each. The 100 point requirement is for the Beach Club Villas. Vero is 50.

To get $69/ point from Disney it requires you to sell them all back at $15/point.

I did have to sell back the 2002 allotment of points. However, my use year begins on June 1 and I bought on March 31. I will get 50 points on June 1 of this year. The points I sold back would have expired on June 1st.

My Vacation Club Guide told me that this was the thing for me to do. I was going to wait for OKW points but he said I would wait quite a while and that this was really a good deal. The last day was March 31 though, for a June use year. What is your use year?

Will DVC allow me to buy a different use year? I know they don't like to, but is that a definite rule?

Paul, I think the criteria is that the points must be bankable to use MB. That means 6 months out if this is your initial purchase but can be as little as 2 months for an add on it appears. Unless you buy 150 points you must buy the same use year as you already own or go resale.
