Well for VMK, beta is the period of time before vmk opened when VMK asked a bunch of people if they would test vmk for them (like play the game and report any bugs or glitches they see). During that period, a large number of items were released that were no longer in the stores once vmk opened to the public. Since then, those items that are no longer available have been called "Beta" and people that played during that time period are called "Beta Testers" or "Beta Players" It's kind of funny to see how people react when I say, "Hi, I'm beta!"

Hi, that is Totally Correct in VMK Terms, however, we Picked the Name the Beta Kids because there is another organisation called the Zeta Sisters who go on VMK. Though I can see where that might cause some confusion.

We started this as a way to get people more involved on both the DIS's point of view of VMK and the actual thing itself. That way there would be things for people to do both on and off VMK.
