bestFares--I don't get it. Help please

I see a much lower price listed on Bestfares web site. I am not a member, so it is a published price, but way lower than travelocity or orbitz. How do I get that price? Call the airline and ask for that fare?

Help me. I never go anywhere!

I am not 100% sure here but I think if you proceed like you wanted to book the flight you will come to a phone number that you would call. I have never used them myself but have heard that site mentioned a few times.
Maybe somebody on the Dis knows more.

you have to belong to their web-site - We did for one year - They are great deals, but usually the times are not what we wanted (really early or past midnight) they are usually not non-stop, and the lay over time could be pretty long - We didn't join again - It just didn't work for us -

We joined for one year as well to get the free membership in all the rental car frequent guest clubs. Even after we ended our membership with BestFares our rental car club accounts stayed open with no annual fee.

One problem with that site is that the posted airfares are almost always sold out. You end up quoted a much higher price and you can only get that information AFTER you have joined bestfares.

Try www.sidestep.com. They research all sites for you to get the best airfare rates. You can also compare rates to web sites like Expedia and Travelocity. Its much easier than doing all that work yourself. Then go to the airline's website to make sure they don't have a cheaper fare there.

Also, try www.kayak.com. Great sight and you book directly with the airlines.

I just tried sidestep.com, and the prices they quoted were way higher than those currently listed at Delta for the flight I want in December. kayak.com was much closer, but still about $10 higher than the Delta web site.
