My kids are jumping out of their skins waiting for October. My oldest knows more than my youngest because she has high anxiety issues, so to head off melt-downs and whatnot, I want to get them used to what they could expect at both parks with regards to rides and surprises.

We all know some YouTtube videos are better than others ;), so which ones do you like that give the best idea of what to expect?

By far the best are the Fresh Baked videos. They post a new video daily and they are really well done. My family are preparing to go the park in April and we watch them daily and they are great. Search for the Fresh Baked Disney channel on YouTube.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but in terms of fireworks and WoC, it's worth noting that new shows will be debuting in May as part of the 60th anniversary celebration. Both are expected to continue into 2016. So, any of the videos currently on YouTube will be of the shows that were presented previously, but the shows in October will probably be markedly different.

I figured it would be based on the upcoming 60th celebrations, and we'll check those out too. I want the girls to get an idea of what to expect wrt noise level mostly.

Fresh Baked - I'll check it out!

I like fresh baked too. They don't have a lot of night videos though. Not recent anyways.

In terms of the fireworks, the sound level does, to some degree, depend on when you watch the show from. I'm assuming the main launch point is going to remain the same, which means if you watch from Small World Mall the bursts seem much closer and sound louder. I would describe it this way, on MS you can hear the bursts, but on Small World Mall you can feel them as well.

There is a channel called LMG Vids that shoots great low light videos of the dark rides. I think the videos are very close to as if you are seeing it with your own eyes. Here is a link to their Haunted Mansion video. If the link doesn't work, search for Disneyland 4K extreme low light.

Another vote for Fresh BakedDisney. You may even become a fresh baked muffin. :)
I also especially like YouTube videos that are by RU 42. Disney Parks. HD Thrillseeker. Sharp Productions. Theme Park HD. This is off the top of me head. There are other very nice videos too.

There's a few videos of the rides by thecoasterviews and themeparkhd on youtube. These were great for DD6 and DS4 before their last trip to eliminate some of the "fear of the unknown." DD brags about how many times she's been on Splash Mountain. :)
