Ok, first I'll admit my trip isn't until next Dec, but I'm excited thinking about seeing all the Xmas decorations, and I'm wondering which hotels have the best decorations. I plan to spend one day checking out holiday decorations (and I'll have a car).

Thanks!

This site is very good for comparing resort decorations:

My all time favorite is the tree in the Grand Floridian - my DH and I had a great time just watching the kids get their first glimpse of the huge tree (and the gingerbread cottage)!

wilderness lodge followed by the GF. this year the tree at GF is skinnier. will be checking that out in a week or so!

One year we had two foster children accompany us on our Dec vacation. They were in awe when they entered GF. The 4yr old boy was so amazed at the giant Christmas tree, he kept looking up, up, up until he fell flat on his back! Instead of crying, he just laid there looking up saying, "WOW!" It was a memory making moment!

Della, I have to laugh with you at your post - that's exactly the kids reactions my DH & I witnessed when we were there! We even laughed and said that there must have been some hidden magnets in the tree because the children ran in, their eyes popped, and lots just dropped to the floor in awe! We have never seen a reaction to a tree like that before, and it was lots of fun to just sit and "kid watch"! Along with the roasted chestnuts they were passing out, the huge gingerbread house and the orchestra on the 2nd floor balcony playing Christmas carols that rang thru the lobby, we really felt the spirit that year at the GF!

Coming from New Jersey, I really doubted that you could feel the Holiday spirit in sunny Florida. But, Seahunt is right, you really do feel the holiday magic all around you!

Unfortunately I have heard that the GF decorations are not up to par this year. I have not seen it yet, as I'm not due down there until Monday, but a few people have posted to this fact.

The WL is certainly something to see, and if it wasn't for the construction of the new stunt show at MGM, I'd say don't miss the Osborne Lights, but alas they will not be up and running this year.

I believe the GF, YC, and possibly BWI have gingerbread house displays.
