Best Wines at WDW

Hey all! Tell me some of your favorite wines you have had at WDW, and where you have found them. My BF & I will be looking to try some new ones when we go in Sept. Sadly, we won't be there for the F&W but still hoping to hit Jiko and some other places.

What do you suggest?

We are looking forward to dinner at Jiko, because I love red wine from South Africa. There is a gift shop at AK, that sells them by the bottle to take back to your room.

Narcoosees and Artist Pt. have a good selection of domestic and imported wines. The server at Yachtsman was a great help and rec'd a fantastic bottle of wine, that was less expensive than the one we originally selected.
We will be at WDW for the first two days of the F&W....can;t wait to do the all the wine tasting.

DH and I split a bottle at JIKO in January that was called Cirrus. It is a winery owned by Ernie Els, the pro golfer. It was good enough we ordered a second bottle even though we couldn't finish it.

We also had a bottle at Ca Grill, label was Black Chicken. It was also good. It's harder for us at CG because we always want to try something we haven't had before and since we are from CA, most of the wines at CG are familiar to us. The Black Chicken was pretty good though.

Ask the servers for selections..they are very helpful. We had an amzing pinotage at Jiko but I do not remember the name. There is a great wine bar you can go to to sample some wines.

At Cali Grill we had an awesome Pinot Noir from Oregon suggested by our server.

Aslo in Epcot (France, Germany and Italy) all have graet set ups where you can go in and order a glass of wine from that country. There are many great ones to choose from. In France I normally get a Kir (chardonnay w rasberry liquer) DH gets a pinot noir. In Germany I usually have a resiling and in Italy I try a Chianti or a galss of Rosa Regal. They cast members are very knowledble and can answer questions and make suggestions!

We love Reislings so Germany will definately be a stop for us. Thanks for the suggestions. Keep em' coming. I'll probably print this thread out when I go.

I had a fantastic Merlot at Hollywood Brown Derby last year from Coppola Vineyards. Loved it so much, I had a bottle sent to my parent's table when they went a month later.

Big fan of Rose Regale. You can find it many places - DW and I found it an easy bottle to finish off!

I agree with Mickey Man - the Rosa Regale is a wonderful sparkling wine. I know you can buy it at the Italy pavillion in Epcot and I'm sure most of the signature restaurants offer it as well.

If you like champagne get yourself a bottle of Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee. It's made especially for Disney and can only be purchased at the Disney parks and on Disney cruise line. It's good!

Conundrum is a great blend if you like chardonnay and I'm quite fond of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio whenever it's available.

Have fun - I'm sure you'll get some great recommendations from the folks around here.

We recently discovered rose regale at a tasting and we've been hooked ever since. So good.

This topic reminded me of a story that DH and I are still telling.

In 1997 DH and I took our first Disney trip without kids. We had done research on 'special' things to do. After our first day at MK we went up to California Grill to have a drink and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. I ordered "a glass of white zinfandel". I have no idea what kind it was but it was the best glass of wine that I have ever had. When we paid for it we learned that the "best glass of wine ever" cost $8.00. That was when most wine, at least the kind that I drink, cost about $3 to $4. DH still kids me about that.

Me too, the Cakebread Cellars and the F&WF! Conundrum is good too. Couple of other good wines: Eroica Riesling (Narcoosees), Chocolate Block (Jiko) and Evolution #9 (AP). And just too many at the F&WF. FWIW.

Check out the Selbach Oster Spatlese at CA Grill. The markup on it isn't too bad, and it's a great all around food wine. I suggest pairing it with the Foie Gras. Unfortunately, the wines they pour in the Germany Pavillion might be good for a quick buzz, but they're not very good. I think Graff is the major producer that they carry.

My dh brought me to the California Grill for my BDay last summer. We each ordered one of the less expensice glasses of wine. 12.50 each!

I'm with davinakb-Chocolate Block from Jiko is a great choice
