Why does everyone seem to be so down on BWS? my only experience with them is more than 10 years old, but I loved it, and found it walkable, yet I see people recommending more expensive close hotels and saying they are much better, what gives? Is BWS a bad choice?

Really hope they are not bad, We are staying with them. Trip Advisor has great reviews of them.

We stayed there in Nov 2011 and loved it. The walk was very pretty at night because the trees have christmas lights in them :) It's a bit longer walk (I think it took us 15-17min from the hotel to the security stations) but I got a heck of a deal on the room so it was fine. Room was clean, service was good, breakfast was decent.

Do you mean the BW Stovall's on Katella? I stayed there a few years ago and it wasn't bad, the rooms were a little dated but it was clean. The walk wasn't too bad either, I liked going through the Grand Californian. I would stay here again if the deal was good.

I do prefer to stay on Harbor Blvd now, I really liked staying at the Best Western Anaheim Inn it was a much shorter walk for not much more money.

We love staying at Stovalls. The walk is not bad when you cut through the Grand Californian. The pool area is nice and big. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is better than most. We also love Cocos restaurant which is on site. Looks like you guys are there the same time. We arrive Jan 31st
for 7 nights. You'll have a great time!!

We've stayed there a couple of times. Great rates, nice walk to the park through the GC, the rooms are clean and comfortable (albeit a bit dated). Staff have always been super nice. Breakfast offerings are good - in fact when we were there in December they even had smoothies! One of the staff brought a tray full of cups out (two different flavours) and they were gone very quickly! Not sure if this is a regular offering now or if they were just trialing it? Anyway, we would stay there again. Cheers!

Thanks, 10 days to go, so excited.

We may pass in the halls...lol

Well, someone who goes soon, please let me know how it is!

I just got back from staying there over the Star Wars Half Marathon weekend. I actually stayed there last year for the Tinkerbell weekend as well. It's fine. It's clean. Rooms are pretty dark and, like someone said, a bit dated, but for the price and the location, it's worth it, especially if you're someone who is in the parks all day and only needs a room to sleep in. Breakfast is ok, they were constantly refilling items while I was there. Service overall is good. Parking for us has always been difficult to find a space, but I think it's because we've been there during busy weekends.
