I'm past the deciding stage, as priceline has made the decision for me. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on Best Wester Raffles on Harbor are.

Is there a shuttle to and from the park, or is the website just referring to the ART system?

How are the rooms?

It's a decent hotel (usable, not wonderful), but too far to walk. I wouldn't rely on transport to/from the park.

I haven't stayed there. From looking at their website, it makes it sound like they're just referring to local public transportation and not a free shuttle. The easiest thing to do would be to call and ask :thumbsup2

Thanks. I didn't see that. I just booked the hotel surreptitiously while at work. I will give them a call when I'm off.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think the Toy Story parking lot is next door and you could just hop on the free shuttle from that to the park. My SIL just stayed there a couple of months ago and they were happy with it. They said it wasn't glamorous, but it was clean.

We stayed there the first few years we went, we thought it was a good budget option, particularly for the suites.
The only transportation was the ART, we generally found it faster (though more tiring) to walk to the park. It was clean, the rooms were decent, we had a lot of fun on those trips before we started staying closer to the parks and got spoiled. ;)

we stayed in oct 2010 - the suites are quite large (we stayed in a family suite with bunk beds and it was roughly 3 times the size of an average hotel room - didn't have 2 bathrooms as advertised though) which was great. We found that it needed updating but was clean and the price was a good value. They use the ART shuttle like many of the area hotels, but we often waited 20+ minutes and sometimes the shuttle was full and not taking more passengers when it got to us. By day 2 we ended up walking most days, but it was a long (15-20 minute) walk in the heat or rain (first half of the week was hot, second half chilly and rainy) pushing a stroller. The Toy story parking lot is about a 1-2 minute walk away though, but we didn't explore that option ourselves.

It's been awhile since I visited this property, but I thought the suites were very nice. They weren't fancy, but there are few properties that can hold more than six people in a suite. The pool is on the smallish side, but okay, and they do offer a continental breakfast.
