Hello! Has anyone stayed at the BW Raffles? I'd love to hear the good, the bad and the ugly! We are planning a trip in October and wanted Stovall's, but its not available for one of the nights:confused3
Are there any restaurants near by this hotel? I've read that it is near one of the disney parking lots and you can take the tram. Is that convenient, or is the ART a better idea? I know its a bit of a walk from the parks, but we don't mind taking the ART. The price seems too good to pass up!:)

We are staying here in September, and you can take the Toy Story parking tram.

It's not a bad walk, considering how much you're already going to be walking in the parks, but that might just be me LOL! :rotfl2:

If you do a thread search there are several reviews of this place, and for the price most people choose to stay a little closer, but we have a relative who works for BW and we are getting such a scorching deal (that isn't available for PPI) that we aren't passing it up.

We stayed here about 5 years ago in a family suite. The room was clean, the pool was a little small if I remember right, but the room was pretty dated then. linens and towels had the old smell, bathroom not in the greatest repair etc.. We walked most of the time just fine, and sometimes got a cab, but we hate taking art so we try to stay where we can walk!
out of the many 2-3 star hotels that we have stayed at in the area, this one would be low on our list just due to if we have to walk or travel that far from the park then we would actually want a room that is worth to get back to if that makes sense.

We are staying there in December. We initially were going to use the ART but after mapping it out I realized that the Toy Story Tram is about 800 ft away. We will definitely be using the tram due to the frequency of the busses and the proximaty to the hotel.

As far as the hotel, we've never stayed there before but enjoy staying at Best Westerns. With our military discount the price is always very reasonable. It seems to get decent marks on trip advisor...

Enjoy your trip!

We just stayed there in April. We were in a completely remodeled room. It looked so much better than the pictures I had seen online. They added protein options to their breakfast which was nice. When we were leaving they asked if I would take a survey and said they were working hard to improve their property. They mentioned they'd be doing a pool renovation soon, don't know if that happened yet. The walk to the Toy Story tram was fine. It was a little long at night, but probably no different than walking back to an across the street hotel. The walk was pretty deserted the night we stayed until midnight and if I wasn't with DH I would have been a little creeped out. If you are with a group though, you should be fine.

I don't know how long you're going to be at the Raffles, but we looked at it with the Military discount and then the 4th night stay free discount and it was WAY WAY better.

Glad to hear the hotel is nicer! How long was the wait for the parking lot tram?

Good to know. Unfortunately were only staying for 3 nights. Thanks for the heads up though!

There was never a wait for the Toy Story Bus. There was always one loading when we got there and when we were headed back and at night time there were several lined up and we were always able to sit, which was nice with two little kids. I never saw the ART bus to know how frequent it was, at night it would be nice to be dropped off at the front door though. I don't know if I'd want to deal with staying at this hotel if we had to go back for naps everyday, but since ours were past that stage it was a good place for us to stay. Next time we'll have a 1 1/2 year old with us and we'll probably stay across the street to make life easier. Otherwise I would definitely stay there again.
