Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn? Seems convenient due to proximity to the parks. Specifically, is it clean and have at least comfortable beds? Thanks for the input!

Yes clean and comfortable. We stayed in August and September, the walk is great as well as the free breakfast.

It is our go-to hotel, and we are bummed when they have no availability!

Havent stayed there in a couple of years but it was always very clean and well kept. We either stay there or at the Park View Inn. Both have great free breakfasts too!
You cant fo wrong with either one.

Just DON'T eat at Captain Kidd's, that would be the best thing to learn if you opt to stay on Harbor near the Pedestrian Crossing.

my family of 4 stayed here in April. The main bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and unbelievably quiet. It honestly felt like we were the only ones there. The free breakfast was handy with several options. The only thing that was a drawback was the pullout sofa wasn't as comfortable. That darn bar was easily felt, and while my 12 year old slept fine on it, my 8 year old really disliked it.

Stayed there for the first time in July. We thought it was a great place for the price, and so convenient!

That's my family's go to place as well because of the location. The rooms are clean for the most part (some of the dressers are getting old and the paint varnish is starting to feel a bit sticky/tacky). The beds were fine, but (like many motels), the walls seem thin so you can hear guests in adjoining rooms if they're being on the louder side. They do have a free breakfast (over in the upstairs area of Captain Kidd's), which does include some hot foods (e.g., usualy one meat (e.g., sausage or canadian bacon) and some bread product, and potatoes). There are "to go" plates so you can get food and take it back to the room to eat (which is useful in some cases). The wifi is pretty good.

Thanks everyone! Disboards is extremely helpful, as usual.

In regard to Darkbeer1's comment, I did hear about the Park Vue Inn, but I also saw a lot of photos on Yelp with cockroaches (an irrational fear of mine), which turned me away. I know logically one could assume the Best Western may have these as well since it's right next door, but I was just a little put off by it. Has anyone experiences cockroaches in either location?

I haven't seen any cockroaches in the rooms at BWPPI, but I would guess that there are cockroaches (and other bugs) in every motel/hotel (especially near the garbage cans).

We love BWPPI! Never seen a roach (knock on wood). If you can't find availability online, call because they don't make all of their rooms available online. Last couple times we have had lead footed, amped up toddlers over our heads so next time I think we will ask for the 3rd floor!

We stayed for 3 nights at Park Vue Inn last November and the room was very clean. I'm picky and my husband I both do a full inspection of the beds at ANY hotel at which we stay (budget or high end) for any signs of bedbugs. The beds passed with flying colors. The bathroom can be another pet peeve of mine since they seem to be magnets for dirt in the corners and mold around the bathtub and windows. PVI's bathroom was quite clean and I had no complaints. I never saw a single cockroach. And believe me, I would have been beyond grossed out! I was really pleased with Park Vue Inn.

We've stayed at PVI many times (5 I think?), and have *never* seen any type of creepy crawly. Any idea when the yelp reviews were from? I only ask because they went through an extensive remodel over the last 4-5 years, and quality (in my opinion) went up significantly in that time. I heard it used to be an old, dingy, possibly dirty place, but they got their act together, and it appears spotless every time I am there!

Thanks, you sound like me! Good to know it passed the test. I may be changing my mind to PVI now.

I went back and looked, and it was from 2008.

Here's the link of the photo (yuck):

So it sounds like that level of grossness is in the past! Glad to hear it's clean and updated now. I think I'll book PVI for us.

I'm one of those weird people that brings a black light (yup!) to check of nastiness and heebie-jeebies, along with the extensive bed bug check, and we have never had a problem. Of course, random issues can happen anywhere, but we've never had an issue with PVI!

Staying at Best Western Park Place Inn in several months with my sister. We have different flight times. Anyone know if the front desk of BWPPI will hold luggage until check in? My sister's getting in before me, and before check in. Just realized we needed to figure out what to do with her luggage while she explores and waits for me to arrive. TIA!

Luckily I have never seen roaches in anywhere we have stayed in Anaheim, including BWPPI. I have almost gotten one tangled in my hair by Splash Mountain! Ahhhhh, good thing I was able to flee, or I would have screamed and cried like I was dying!

We liked BWPPI because we were with a group that wanted the complimentary breakfast option and they provided it. The beds were so comfortable we just passed right out, but I don't usually have sleep issues on Disney trips! I didn't love the pool and hot tub area which got full quickly and was partially sheltered by the building. Our room happened to be right above the pool area and it was cool to check on our group when they were swimming. We didn't notice noise from the pool either.

Overall, I think the hotel is ok, but cheaper rates and a returning guest discount have tempted me to the Tropicana down the street a few doors where the pool area is out in the sun and larger. With so many cheap options, I don't know when I will choose to return to BWPPI. I still need to check out PVI, maybe next time!
