We are planning a trip in July, and usually we stay at Hojo. However, we are a party of 6 this time, so Hojo's out - they don't have anything for us. I'm considering BWPPI, but the reviews are mixed.

We'd have their Mini-Suite, which will work.

Is it clean? I've heard it's noisy, but we're fine with that - most of our time will be at the parks.

What's up with the breakfast? Is it at Captain Kidd's (which I've ALWAYS avoided!)?

Sell me on this?

Thanks!!!!

We have stayed here 2x, once last June and once 8 years ago at Thanksgiving. Both times room was clean, service was really nice. They let you stay parked until 3p on your day of check out. Fridge in room was great size. Both times we stayed on the bottom floor, this last time in the very back next to the stairs and had no problem with noise, and the time before in the very front and it wasn't bad, but I remember the noise. The location can't be beat. Right at the crosswalk. Easy to walk back to hotel and take naps, change, etc. When DD2 fell asleep every afternoon for nap, we'd head back, DH and DD would take a nap, I'd get them ready to come back later and I'd head back to the park for some alone time shopping and such. Worked great. This last time we never ate at the breakfast, but 8 years ago it was nothing special, not great, we only went once and never went back. Better to get some things on your own and eat in the room, that's what we did this last time, had fresh fruit, cereal w/ milk, yogurt, etc. was great!! I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

The last time we paid to stay someplace was there, last September, and we liked it. We had an upstairs room above the pool which at times can get kinda noisy. Otherwise the rooms were clean and cute. Would definitely stay there again since it's right at the crosswalk.

We used to stay there it was nice to have the separate couch area -, it was clean and we were always to tired to worry about noise so I guess no issues. I always asked for room near the front of the hotel anyway - I hated walking back at the end of the night.

Dont eat captain kids, go to Millies or Mimis both down on other side of Mcdonalds - both great Millies offered some healthier options....

Enjoy!

Other than the Grand this is the only place I have stayed. I LOVE IT!! Never have had bad service, can't beat the location, never had a problem with noise and I've stayed on ALL floors! I've gone when both my kids were in cribs and haven't had a problem with cleanliness. Remember, it is a mote...oh and the last 2 visits they were doing lots of upgrades around the property :)

We have never eaten at Captain Kids...but always take advantage of the breakfast in the am. We have both eaten there AND have brought them back to our room.

It's nice to be so close and be able to come back during the day for a swim. That's my 9 year olds favorite part. I sit around the spa and let the jets hit my feet and do laundry while she cools down in the pool...it's great!!

Don't think twice and if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Anyone going the first week of May and NOT driving? PM me...I have a question for you :)

We have stayed twice. I LOVE the location! The rooms were perfectly fine, very clean, which is top priority for us. We also had a mini suite and it fit our family of 5 comfortably (2 of the kids being teenagers). My first stay was with a friend, so we had a standard room near the front if the building on the second floor. We did notice quite a bit of noise for a while when we were trying to sleep. Mainly just families coming back to their rooms. For my next trip with my family I did request a room towards the back of the building, also on the second floor and it was much more quiet. (Thanks to tips from DISers!!) I don't remember noise being an issue at all. We are trying out HoJo's this time. I haven't stayed at that HoJo's in nearly 20 years!

Oh, and we never ate at Captain Kidds because of the horrible reviews.

I need to re-read the HoJo tip thread so I can call and request a fairly quiet room there. :) Great info on here!

I thought the horrible reviews were from Captain Kidd's cooked food downstairs?
We always go upstairs and eat the free cereal breakfast and it is fine.
They have 3 different cold cereals, oatmeal, bagels, toast, donuts, muffins, fruit, juice, coffee. We normally don't eat huge breakfast every day anyway so getting cereal with a bagel for free is good for us. Plus you can be in and out quickly to head to the parks without having to wait to be seated, order, wait for your food, etc. We pick our drive up day and leaving day to have a hot breakfast somewhere. I personally wouldn't eat downstairs but upstairs, I think it's the food BW puts out which just happens to be in the upstairs of Cpt Kidds.

Personally I have never seen mixed reviews of BWPPI. Unless it is from someone who was expecting a $200 a night service from a $100 a night hotel. Overall BWPPI seems pretty consistent. Clean. Quiet for the most part - except for certain room locations - like all hotels. And close.
