Best Western Park Place in or Del Sol?

They should be about $40 to $70 different in price.

I found the Del Sol to be ok but wouldn't pay over $100 to stay there. Room was large and clean. Parking was really tight.

BW Park Place is highly rated. Better than most breakfast included.

I've only stayed at BWPPI.

I liked how large the room was and how close it is to DL/DCA. We had a king sized bed and a sofa bed. You could also get a room with 2 queens instead of the king. It had a fridge and microwave in the room.

The continental breakfast had a good selection of items.

I will be staying there again in just over 6 months!

I have stayed at BWPPI a lot of times and you can't beat the location.

The rooms are very nice and spacious. The rooms are not that fancy, but they do have all the amenities you need in a room.

BWPPI have three different types of rooms which is the king bedroom with a sofa bed, 2 queen bedroom with a sofa bed and also they have a 2 double bedroom.

The pool is not that big but if you don't care about swimming this is a nice place to stay.

The continental breakfast at Captain Kidd's restaurant on the 2nd level which is a nice way to start a morning with some cereal, bagels, drinks, etc. until you head on over to the park. But I would not suggest eating at Captain Kidd's restaurant during your visit.

If you have a vehicle, you have to pay a $8 per night parking fee and the parking lot is very tight.

Ditto to what squirrel and mvf-m11c had to say.

Only wished they had an in-room safe. They have safety deposit boxes at the front desk for smaller items but are not large enough for something like a laptop.

Just got back from a five night stay with them. Just the DW and I, so the King room was perfect. Well appointed and very clean. Even though we were at the very end (241) we did not hear the I-5 noise some complain about when staying at other hotels.

My wife is a member of the Best Western Rewards program. I called them directly and mentioned that - and got a great rate. We stayed 2/23 to 2/28 and our rate was only $89.10 per night, and then you add on all of the local taxes and an ATID(?) fee too. Our bill was $521.25. Very reasonable in my opinion.

Room Revenue - $89.10
Room Tax - $13.37
ATID Fee - $ 1.78

The included breakfast upstairs at Captain Kidds was standard continental style offerings, fruit (apples/oranges/bananas), cereals (corn flakes/fruit loops/raisin bran/oatmeal), hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, "bisquits" (their spelling, I call them biscuits) and gravy <- both not very warm though. They also had low fat strawberry yoghurt and your choice of 1% or skim milk. Now for the good news - their coffee is great! Strong, fresh and very hot. Wait for the large carafe with the spout as the pump-top carafes tended to be a weaker brew. They use a good bean/roast combo too. Not one of the bitter light roasted robusto types.

I had the room closest to Harbor Blvd. Also didn't hear any noice from the road or other rooms.

I've stayed at BWPPI 2x and was happy both times. The location is awesome!! We had rooms both times on the bottom floor, once the very first room and you walk down on the Capt Kidds side and the next time the very last room on the same side. I found the one at the end way more noisey than the first room, kinda strange if you ask me. But it was a great place to stay. I've read some pretty sketchy things about Del Sol, but don't know anyone personally who's every stayed there. Good luck in your decision! You are going to Disneyland!! wahoo!!

We've never stayed at the Del Sol, but we've stayed at the BWPPI twice and will stay here again in December. The proximity to the park is awesome, the rates are good, and the free breakfast gets something into your stomach quickly so you can hold off and eat at off meal times during the day (we'll then eat mid-late morning and mid-late afternoon). I would highly recommend it. Unless I got an outrageous great deal to stay at the GCH, this is our place of choice.

Just came back from Park Place for the OMDD. I hadn't stayed there in about 2 years since I could never find a decent price but snagged an $89 out of nowhere. I was also surprised to get a room facing Harbor on the 3rd floor!!...but of course no fireworks:headache: but I did have a lovely view of the insanity as it developed.
PROS: Location obviously
Beds and linens have been upgraded- very, very nice and plush.

Flat screen TV's

WI-FI had a strong signal.

Friendly helpful staff.

CONS: The new security gate plus (high) parking fee are a pain and have done nothing to alleviate the parking problem...but that is true of a majority of the Harbor hotels.

Cable channel selection is just basic---not a problem if you don't spend much time in the room.

AS for the Del Sol---I stayed there once about 5-6 years ago and though things could have changed I would NEVER go back. Just had such a skeevy vibe.
