I need to choose between these two. Any comments? I prefer indoor corrdior hotels but am really a stickler for the place 'feeling" clean (in addition to truely being clean) I pack and spray down everything with lysol to give you an idea of what a stickler I am. I'd appreciate any comments. Also, I don't care about the pools. TIA. :wizard:

I have stayed at both. I would never stay at the Grosvenor again. It had a digusting damp smell and although the room wasn't dirty it was definitely in need of refurbishment. We enjoyed our stays at the Best Western.

Stayed at BW DTD a week ago. It is a very nice hotel in my opinion. I felt it was clean and the room was large. We had a King room with view with a sofa bed.

I talked to several people on the bus who were staying at Grosvenor and got varying comments. Some people loved it, others said it wasn't very clean. I guess it depends on the room you get or how picky you are.

We've stayed at the LBV Best Western twice and liked it. The rooms are large and were clean and every room has a balcony. I am not the stickler that you are but if a room was dirty I would not have stayed there again. The bathroom says it all and the bathrooms here were clean.

I like both hotels. Prefer the Grosvenor because it's an easier walk to DD.

:cool1: Ive stayed at LBV several times and other than the very small pool area i found it quite good. I have to tell you the breakfast buffet is worth it if "mama" is still there to cook your eggs or waffles to order.. a lovely lady who i look forward to seeing everytime we're there.. and walking distance to both downtown disney and the crossroads right across the street.

The Grosvenor is great, but you really have to book a tower room if you intend to stay there. Those rooms are kept up and nice/clean. I've heard nothing but negatives from those staying in the courtyard rooms. That could be the difference in why there are so many different opinions during the same time frame.

The Tower rooms also offer views of the fireworks and DTD which are pretty cool. Not all of them, only about 1/3- 1/2 of them.

Stayed at BW LBV last October and was pleased with hotel. Don't know if anyone posted this above but my understanding is that within past 2 years or so hotel was updated. Good views from upper floor room balconies.

It was fully renovated a couple of years ago; in fact, they were just finishing the work when we were there in July 2003. Incidentally, the very top floor rooms (we had one) do not have balconies. There are very few rooms up there though, so your chances of not having a balcony (even without a special request) are pretty slim.

I would chose this property over the Grosvenor anytime, even if it were more expensive.
