Has anyone ever stayed here? Please tell me about the transportation that they supply and any and everything else about this hotel. My son is thinking of this place for the beginning of March. 2 adults and 3 kids 16, 14 and 5.

if you staying offsite get a rental car.

here is their schedule
http://www.bestwesternlakeside.com/shuttles.htm

it goes to thepark onces in the morning and returns once in the evening.

if you miss it - or it is too full - then you only alternative is a cab. Which can get expensive.

get a rental car.

unless he intends to get 2 rooms - it only has 2 double beds in each room, plus a microwave, smaller refrigerator.

so sorry - was I wrong way wrong

here is the proper link

stayed there earlier this year.

going to the parks was great - Studios and Epcot shared a bus, Mk and AK shared a bus.

going to the MK was fine - coming back it stopped at AK before it went to the resorts. So this added about an hour if not more.

at the magic kingdom, tell him to walk to the CR resort (or ride the monrail) and take their DTD bus back to DTD then walk back. this will definitely save time.

these buses drop off and pick off - where all the offsite buses do. so the walk is further than WDW buses.

the buses were great and the drivers were friendly.

a bus was to come every 20 minutes and they did. surprised at how few guests were taking the bus.

he does NOT need a rental car here.

this hotel does not participate in the EMH or DME (only WDW resorts get DME)- the Hilton is the only DTD hotels that does EMH.

an hour to get back after the magic kingdom? is that true? that seems crazy if its probably only a 5 minute drive

If he does end up staying there, make sure he gets one of the WDW view rooms. They are a bit more but SO worth it. The view is fantastic.
The room was clean and nice. One of the elevators broke while we were there. Luckily we weren't in it, but too bad for those who were. It took them 3 hours to get it running again.

the bus had to go to AK after you were picked up at the MK - so yes an hour.

that is why I suggest he take the CR DTD bus back and walk to LBCBW.

now after the AK closes this is not a problem. which is probably why they do this. Since AK closes at 5 or 6pm most days.
