Best weekend to go to DL this summer?

The background:
DH told me today that he can't make it through til October for our "Halloween trip" Ideally I would want to go for the D23 convention, but wouldn't you know it? Its the weekend that the Brewers play the Diamondbacks so we're stuck here that weekend. Even DH wasn't happy about this, said the convention sounded like fun?!! Also, we have a church event with our youth kids the 14-16th.

The actual question:
Sooo...which weekend would be the best, crowd wise, or whatever other specifics you smart people come up with? (We're thinking, last weekend in July(july31-aug2) through third weekend in September (18-20).)

I would never do a weekend during the summer, so it really makes no diff what one you pick, it will be very busy.

Unfortunately, with our schedules and jobs, we can only get away on the weekends. Just a quick (6hr drive, haha) trip to see the mouse!

Just avoid July 4th! Otherwise, get there at opening.

We can only go in August due to the same reasons, but it is an 18 hr drive so kinda limiting. Have fun.

I'd pick the weekend before or after Labor Day weekend. Many schools will already be back in session and most the summer vacationers will be done. Before for more entertainment options and after for less crowds.

It's going to be busy no matter when, but I would probably choose one of the first two weekends in August (August 1-2 or August 8-9), since all of the Deluxe APs are blocked out on Saturday, and the So Cals are blocked out the entire time (until August 16 or 17).

Actually depending on what you want to do, the second or third weekend in September might be best, though you'll miss out on the Summer Nightastic! events and Haunted Mansion will be closed if you go then. But the crowds should be down a little bit.

It does to be 6 hrs away and only be able to go on weekends doesn't it? lol In our experiences it's busy all summer on the weekends so just pick one and go. For lower crowds I'd pick after Labor Day, BUT that's a long time away too so will that be any better for you?
