Best week to go in Sept/Oct?

Hey all! Finally getting around to (possibly) rebooking my March 2020 trip (shut down happened the week before!!) and looking at either September 2021 or October 2021. Hoping that some more things will be running by then. Any tips on the best weeks to look at or perhaps avoid? We usually go during spring break so just trying to get a sense of what it’s like in the fall. We’re not super into the Halloween stuff so really any week is in play. Thanks for any thoughts!

pick a week without a hurricane...

Oct is probably a little cooler, maybe. early Oct this year will probably have the most 50 year anniversary stuff (i.e. crowds).

I'd probably lean toward third week in Oct.

Around Oct 1st will be much busier because of the 50th anniversary of WDW. If you want to enjoy the historical visit for that, go then. But if the crowd will be too much then avoid. I read a lot of blogs and reports from the 25th and Disneyland anniversary reports and some people say this could be like a Christmas crowd? With covid still in play it's anyone's guess. I do imagine that weekend will be more crowded though. Also it's being predicted they may hold off on opening Tron until Oct. 1st. I guess they opened the Barnstormer with the 25th anniversary. Is that's important, go in October, if that's not important, go in September. September will be less crowded than October. I'd avoid the Columbus day holiday if you on in October since a lot of kids are off of school. That's about all I can think to avoid in October, the 1st will increase crowds, Columbus will increase crowds and I'm not sure if actual Halloween does or not?

Hubby and I used to go in September almost every year. We always went the week after Labor Day (so the second-third week) and the crowds were awesome. As the years went on, attendance steadily got heavier, but historically, going around this time in September, crowds will be some of the lowest you will see all year round. But, be fair warned, it is VERY hot and humid. I'm from NY so humidity doesn't bother me, and although it was hot, I never found it to hard to manage. For me, low crowds will always trump the heat. I think some weeks in October aren't bad as well, but as someone above said, with the 50th anniversary this year, I have a feeling October will be much busier. But look at it this way: any day at Disney is better than a day at home or work!

I think this year will be different....between the 50th anni and pandemic status, you could see max capacity at parks every day, every week...if we're lucky.

Second or third week of October.
Its cooler than September and less chance of a hurricane like September. We went 2nd week of October this year. We had 2 of our days with rain events but they kept the crowds low and most rides were open.

We are booked to arrive on 10/20 for 9 nights. We traveled similar dates before and no problems with crowds. Weather was perfect the first trip, warm enough to swim, cooler evenings. Second trip they had a cold snap, so we were in jackets/pants for a couple days. Warmed up though after that.

I honestly don't think it will be that much more crowded than previous years. I'm not convinced everyone is going to just start magically traveling again in October.
Some may be affected by the economy, the 50th seems very scaled back, people may be waiting for shows to come back, some may put off trips until 2022 when Tron and Guardians rides will be open and most likely no masks/social distancing. Masks may still be a requirement this October. :)

We go in mid Oct and I sure hope it not packed. We have BWV GV so that we have plenty of room.
