Hi,

Thinking of going to WDW in Oct (2007) next year. Any thoughts of the best week to go with least attendance at DVC (we'll stay at BWV that trip) and parks. Afraid of large crowds/waits as our fall trips are usually the week before Thanksgiving or 1st week in Dec.
Want to hit the MNSSHP also.

Thanks,
Bonnie :wizard:

I can tell you from experience that Columbus Day weekend can be busy. That is the usual time we go and the crows can be higher for that week.

F&WF will fill up BWV early, so be sure to take advantage of your 11 month window.

I've found October to be the busiest time for DVC members and that getting into BWV and BCV at the 7 month window very difficult. Hopefully the OP has points for BWV so can book at the 11 month window. I booked at WLV for my 2 studio rooms for mid-October and had to book day by day and glad I did as there is hardly any availability there or any location. As for October, with food and wine, MNSSHP, and the golf tournnament, I've found this time of year to be very busy. I compare it to early May. It is not a walk on to rides by any means, and the weekends are quite busy, especially at EPCOT for food and wine and concerts, since the locals love this time of year, as do the cast members and their friends and families. I just bought an additional contract for BWV beause I'm still learning about all of the ins and outs of ownership and wanted the advantage of 11 months at BWV.

I agree, avoid Columbus week. Also, the last week of October brings in extra folks for Halloween - but since Halloween isn't a school holiday, I don't think its as bad as Columbus week. BW is ALWAYS busy as it is now Food and Wine for all of October. Epcot tends to be busiest on weekends during F&W since it attracts locals.

Do they all gather at the Haunted Manson ??? :duck:

Sorry couldn't resist.

We like the end of October/early Nov. This doesn't seem to be as crowded as Columbus week.

Thanks for the input. I will surely skip Columbus week..Maybe the week of the 21st or the 28th. Have to get on the phone an book my PS for this Nov trip...so far behind in my plannings...

Last year we went last week in Sept and it was great. No lines very easy to get around. This year we are going the 1st week in Oct and I hope it is the same. Does anyone have any ideas if it will be crowed that week, it is a full week before Columbus Day??????
Thanks for your help.

From our experience last year, we arrived the last week of October. It was very busy during the weekend due to Hurricane Wilma evacuees and refugees (we were part of that crowd), however by that Monday it really emptied out and we found Halloween day and the day or 2 before and after to be quite manageable. Because Halloween was during the week and schools are in session it is not so busy during this time. The weekends at Epcot are quite busy though.

The week before and the week after Columbus Day tends to be very busy as many school systems allow school breaks during this time. This is probably the busiest time in October.

Decided to do the last week in October....going to enjoy the little Halloween celebrations at the BW. Heard they have a DJ on the green and the kids can trick or treat at the shops. Sounds like fun. Thought we'd hit MNSSHP on a different night that week. Guess I will have to take advantage of home resort for booking and will book at 11 months.

Thanks for the commments
