Best week to go for MNSSHP?

Which is the best week to plan to go for the MNSSHP? We would like to plan to go next year. We would like to go when it is not so crowded.

For two years we have gone the third week in October. In 2007 it was great, no crowds. This year it was crowded, especially MNSSHP! We even went on the same day - Tuesday. The first year we were able to walk on rides, and the candy lines weren't too bad. This year Space Mountain was 20 minutes and so was the Haunted Mansion at one point. My DH and I looked at each other in a mass of people at Fantasyland and said we thought the economy was bad. Not 15 minutes later, we heard another couple say the same thing!

It was still fun, and in general the parks were not too crowded during the day, especially the mornings. It was just more crowded than I expected.

We went to WDW September 1st thru the 9th and in general the parks were very uncrowded, most rides were walk ons. We attended MNSSHP on the first night it was offered, September 7th. There were absolutely no crowds at all. Even for the first parade we walked right up and got a seat 10 minutes before parade time. We loved this timeframe so much we booked again for next year-the week after Labor Day.

We were there in mid-Sept and attended the MNSSHP, and we had an amazing time. Even my dh commented on how nice it was. (He is NOT a Disney fan, so this is a huge deal.) Everything was walk on and we even able to get a table to sit at and enjoy a late dinner from Casey's about 10 minutes before the fireworks.

We went on Sept 12th this year and most rides we were able to stay on and go around again because it was that dead. In October, the park attendence in general goes up a lot from Sept so the MNSSHP dates will naturally be more crowded. The Columbus Day week and Halloween week are the most crowded.
