Best week of the summer?

Okay-all of you DIS experts and AP visitors - I'm taking a poll! Which week out of the three summer months June, July, August is the least crowded?

My wife and I went July 11-14th in 2002 and the parks were certainly not light but not bad at all. Way less then April vacation and Christmas but not as light as late May.

My *theory* is that most people are there for the week containing the 4th of july. Many people take that week to go to Disney or other vacation spots so the week AFTER that isn't bad at all since people just got back from vacation!

Please be aware that school start and end times vary wildly from area to area. Most school in the south are back in session early to mid august while many schools more north don't start back until late august or early september. In the south they get out of school in may, we are not done until june 9th and some are even later. Early june or later in august would be less crowded than the rest of the summer, although that week after the 4th of july may be good too. Summer is never as bad as Christmas or Easter.

I actually spoke to a CRO CM about this. It seems that most people either go at the beginning of their summer, at the end, or around the 4th. According to the CM this makes the middle of July the slowest. Also a lot of people that go in the middle of the summer go for a long time, a week or two, and tend to take it easy and spend more time in the resorts. That doesn't mean that the place will be deserted. It will still be packed. Just not as packed.

This trip will be our third in early June--both the crowds and the weather have been manageable. It rains a little every day--maybe 15-20 minutes in the early afternoon. We have been able to see and do everything we wanted to with a little planning and FastPass. Just remember that the first Saturday in June is Gay Day at MK and it can get very crowded.
