Best WDW resort for walking limitations

After reading and reading...
some have suggested that the best moderate resort for the least amount of walking to the bus and food court, is the Port Orleans - French Quarter.

We were originally going to book the Little Mermaid rooms at A of A....but after reading the walking distances (and no inter resort bus) we've decided against it. I am still considering the Lion King suite, even though it's lot of room for 2 people.

We'll be there 3 days in October.
I can walk, but not very long distances.
(I'm renting an ECV at the parks each day)

We'll be at the parks most of the day.
Want something that is easy to get around inside the resort area and close walk to catch the buses.

Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated

POFQ will be perfect for you. Request a room close near the food court/buses.

My only observation was your light red type was almost impossible to read. There are some of us here without perfect vision and a nice black type is almost always readable.

If you left-click on your mouse and hold it down as you scroll through the post, the color changes to white lettering on a blue background. I've had the color problem with blogs. If it's something I really want to read I'll copy/paste it into an e-mail draft so it comes out black lettering on white.

In response to the OP, my DH and I both rent ECV's from an off-site vendor because they're cheaper and we can keep them overnight to use around the hotel and Downtown Disney. We prefer to stay at a hotel on the monorail because the monorail is much more accessible than the buses.

The red is very "readable" on my computer.

Seconding the recommendation for POFQ. We were in Building 3, and it was a comfortable walk to everywhere we needed to go.

(Also seconding the recommendation for keeping type as readable as possible.)

I actually think that both posters made a valuable contribution in reminding us that what is accessible for some people doesn't work for others. I have heard of people who actually find the red type easier to read with their vision problems. Why should one person's access trump other people's access? It's a complicated issue, and while there was some snarkiness, I think it brings up a discussion that perhaps should be had more often about what happens when one person's access is another person's barrier.

dunno about resort, but i second the recommendation about renting a scooter from an outside vendor. i've always used scootorlando.com (3 times in the past year)

If you are staying at AoA little mermaids isn't that the closest to buses of all those rooms? POFQ is smaller and nice but shares buses with POR...need to request preferred room close to food court wherever you book so you get closer. and if you need a ECV is much cheaper to get from Walkers Mobility or some other place outside of Disney as it is a long haul from buses to entrance of any park and if you rent from outside you would have the EVC from the time you get there until you leave as they will deliver to resort befroe you get there and then you just plug it up in the room each night and recharge it. you do have to pull it on and park it on ht ebus but that is so easy and just remember ANYONE watching you has never done either. I have MS and have to use one or stay home and staying home is not option with me.

POFQ should fit your needs quite nicely. If it is booked (it can be hard to get into) I would go with a preferred room at CBR. We had one that was SO close to the food court, we could be at the drink station in 6 minutes, just strolling. IMHO preferred rooms at CSR and POR (again, depending upon the exact location) can still be a bit of walk. Please let us know what you decide and how you liked it!

I had knee surgery and ankle surgery not too long before my trip. We stayed at POFQ, and when i checked in i asked for a ground floor room. Not only did they accomidate me, they upgraded me to a river veiw with no extra charge!!! I love POFQ!!!!!
