My fiancé and I will be visiting WDW over NYE this year and while we have visited the parks quite a few times, this will be our first visit sans-family. We are planning to do a few different things, like dinner at the California Grill, but I was curious as to what else we can do to make our trip extra-special.

Any suggestions as to what we can add to our honeymoon? We have awhile to plan, but we know it will be here before we know it! Thank you!

How about a fireworks Cruise? We have done these for both our honeymoon and an anniversary trip. They have them in Epcot and MK. If you PM me I can send you the link to our recap with pictures if you are interested.

Also, how about a Horse and Carriage ride with champagne. They offer these at POR and Wilderness lodge/Fort Wilderness.

A nice dinner at Victoria and Albert's. Although this is quite expensive.

There are other several private dinning options available to.

You can have A mini version of your wedding cake created too. We've done this twice already at Disney and it was fabulous.

Good luck on whatever you decided! There are so many great options out there!

We did the Private Dining Experience for our "Anniversary Trip" at Grand Floridian- it was very nice!

(Anyone know any other locations for this?)

First off, congrats TexasBelle12!

I agree with everything the previous posters have suggested. My fiancé and I are currently planning our honeymoon for April 2015, so we were also wondering the same thing!

We were originally planning to stay at the Polynesian, but with all the construction, we've decided to stay at the Beach Club instead. People have warned us that Beach Club is louder than Yacht Club, but we like the atmosphere of Beach Club better.

One thing I know we plan to do is actually not spend that much time in the parks, and if we do go to the parks, spend it exploring quieter parts that are off the beaten path. Think about going around the other resorts, which are full of romantic spots, like the fireplace lounges at the Wilderness Lodge.

I hope you have a wonderful time!

Congrats texassbelle! So exciting! I actually just got engaged (well over Christmas so not that recently lol) as well and we are planning on doing 2 honeymoons to please both of our travel sides! My family are DVC members and have been since the 90s so needless to say, disney is in my blood and I grew up watching honeymooners at disney world and always wished that I could do that one day! I'm sure you felt the same.

We will be going August 2015 (just shortly after you) and we have been looking at things to do. Since we've been a bunch of times, we decided to that our Disneymoon at a slower pace than we normally would. This means well spend some nights out just relaxing (maybe spend a night on the beach at the Poly or GF in a hammock and watch the water parade) and some mornings sleeping in (you mean you can show up to a theme park after rope drop, hm good to know lol).

Some things were looking into are;
- dinner at The California Grill (be sure to book a later dinner if possible so you can view Wishes during your meal)
- dinner shows
- we both really enjoy the Laua at the Poly. In addition, we try to make a night out of it by heading down a bit earlier to grab a drink or two on the beach, then go to the show, then hang out on the beach and cuddle in the hammocks under the stars
- I am also debating the Hoop Dee Doo show. This show is by no means romantic, but it is a lot of fun. At Fort Wilderness (resort where the show is) they also offer Horse Drawn Carriage rides through the grounds which can be a beautiful way to spend some time together (surprising this really isn't expensive).
- couples massages at Senses (GF resort). We did individual massages on our last trip and it was fantastic. We thought since we were on our honeymoon, a couples massage seemed fitting
- dinner at Jikos/Saana (AK lodge). DF loves to try different cruises and these places are both fantastic. AK lodge is also a very pretty resort to watch the sunset from (they have an outdoor fire lit around sunset with chairs so it is a very nice place plus you can see the animals before they go in for the night)

Since the trip is still so far away I'm sure we will continue to add and take things off our list, but these are just something's I've looked into that are things we typically do not do on our normal trips. We will still visit the parks and the water parks because they are just so much fun, but we will totally slow down the speed of our trip and take some time to smell the roses haha.

I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon!!!!

We also always go with DH's family, so our upcoming honeymoon will be very different just from that aspect.

We will try to go at a slower pace, and most likely won't do many RDs. Our honeymoon is also more focused on dining and relaxing. We have several ADRs for nicer (signature) restaurants and are also staying at the Boardwalk so we will be closer to Epcot and the "nightlife". We will just spend a few days strolling through the WS, taking it easy and enjoying some drinks. On previous trips, we were constantly on the in laws' schedule and having to run to meet them, so we rarely got a moment alone and nothing was leisurely. We also weren't able to always try the restaurants we wanted to because DHs mom likes to stick to their old favorites no matter what. So it will be nice to just be able to do what we want, when we want. And it was also much easier to score ADRs for 2!!! We are also trying to do some of the tours since it will be something new we haven't done before.

Thanks for the great ideas! I really want to use this trip as a way to see other resorts, so I'm all up for other resort adventures! I'm also hoping we will be able to catch an early AM flight out to Orlando (perks of leaving two days after the wedding!) and will have almost a full day to do non-park things.

We may have to keep this in mind for our "Anniversary Trip" (is it bad I'm already planning on this before we even go on our honeymoon?) LOL!

Congratulations ComeUpToBrava! I've only briefly visited the Yacht & Beach Clubs, and I hope to make a visit sometimes on our honeymoon trip! I think I might look for dining experiences at the Wilderness Lodge. During one family trip we ate lunch at Whispering Canyon and it was great - plus we took the boat from MK and it was a nice escape from the parks. We will just make sure we go a few days after the NYE crowds leave so we can get back to the MK!

CONGRATS mlegerto! Happy Planning! We hope to our at a slower pace, but know some days (NYE for instance) we need to show up early. Also not sure what our FP+ strategy will be, since it's possible they could make changes by the time we arrive. Since we are staying a few days after the New Year's crowds leaves, we can hopefully have some "slower paced" days. Or at least try to, since "sleep in" has never been an option when touring with my family!:rotfl2: We've only dined at Ohana and I love the Poly, so we might check out the Luau, Kona Cafe, or (hopefully!) Trader Sam's - even though my guess is it will not be open by then.

Have fun brielise! This will also be our first trip without family, so it will be different for us too!
