For our trip in August we already have a reservation using the 40% off promo. at a deluxe. After thinking about it we decided the rate was low enough that we might want to get two rooms at a moderate instead so everyone has plenty of room (and having two bathrooms would be great!). There will be four of us. What I'm wondering is would it be possible to just pay rack rate on one rooom if by chance free DDP is offered...and still keep the other with 40% off? I know I could make it as two separate reservations but the kicker is that I would really like the rooms to be connecting and I would need to have all four of us listed in the room that would have DDP. Clear as mud?

I'm afraid you would have to do two separate reservations indicating that each would like to be as close as possible to the other.

There is no other way to do it.

But here's my dilemma: How can I reserve two rooms with the same people staying in both rooms now that Disney asks for the names/ages of the occupants? If I try to split it up and put DH and I in one room, and the kids in the other...I don't know that we would be able to get DDP for everyone without paying rack rate on both rooms. I guess worst case scenario we just cancel the second room and stay in one as we originally planned. Of course this is only speculation as I'd really be surprised if the DDP is offered free this year due to the number of people that are already booked. And yes, I know I'm trying to get the best of both worlds (and that usually doesn't happen very often). But it sure would be nice if I could somehow work this out!

Should the DDP come out as a free option in that time frame.. I'd give up the two rooms and the discount and get yourself a All Star Suite.

Disney reservations can only accept 1 code per reservation. It's that simple. So.. if you are paying rack rate for a room.. you get the dining plan. If you're getting the 40% off.. you're getting that discount. Good lord.. free dining AND 40% off the room.. That's not gonna happen. IF they were going to do that, why don't they just let you stay in the castle for free? :wizard:

So.. what you might try is to 'create' two extra kids to put in the room that you're not putting on the dining plan.. and getting the discount on. :D Sure you still love those fictional kids just as much as if they were real, but they can fend for themselves for food and park tickets. (ha ha)

But you will still require two different reservations.

I could have sworn the All-Star Suites were excluded from free DDP.

This is just too complicated to worry about. I think we'll just forget about getting the second room and stick with what we've got. I'd rather concentrate on a sure thing than keep speculating on free DDP. Besides, I'm almost afraid to even call about changing my current reservation! :scared1:

I thought you could book more than 1 room with the 40% off. Why dont you just have them change your package from one room at the poly to 2 rooms at a mod. won't it be the same. 2 rooms 40% off 2 people in each room with a DDP and ticket each or am I just not following what you are saying. I've seen people here that even booked 3 rooms.:confused3

There is a simple answer to what you ask - it cannot be done

Your party cannot get full value from 2 different discount offers - if you have a room with the 40% discount the people registered in that room will have to pay for dining - if you have a room with free dining you will pay rack for it.

There is no way to work the system to get free dining for you entire party whilst some of them are staying in a discounted room.

Curses -- foiled again! :rotfl:

I don't understand why people just can't do things my way. :rolleyes1

My husband was laughing at me because when he told me that he'd need to take four r/t flights for business, the gears start turning immediately and I was thinking oh goody, goody -- that's going to earn us a free ticket to WDW. DH gave his travel dept. the numbers to every frequent flyer program we belong to and guess what...every flight was booked on the same airline and it's one we would never use for MCO due to the connections. Darn it!!!

Because then it might not be my way - and we all know that would be just wrong....... They are only called magic "your" way tickets.....
