Best way to Universal Studios Parking Lot

We will be staying on Disney property-specifically Old Key West resort. We will be aiming for an early arrival at Universal-IOA. What is the best way to go and place to park ?
How much time should we leave to get there?

Your best route is I-4. Not sure of the exit number but it's the one immediately AFTER you pass the Sand Lake Road exit. (Might be exit 75) Ramp on the right, go to the top and turn left and follow the signs into the Universal Garages. Travel time is only 20 minutes but once you park, the walking/moving sidewalk time from the garage and through CityWalk up to either park entrance is easily another 20 minutes.
Keep close track on where you parked; particularly the level of the garage. There are still people from last week wandering the garage looking for their cars!

From the Key West resort, take Epcot Center Drive to I-4, then continue as Bob indicated above. We also agree you should keep track of where you park as all levels of the parking garages at Universal look the same - we always take a photo of the level and area where we parked so we can easily get back to our car at the end of the day.

Keep in mind the time estimates provided by Bob will also vary dependent on traffic on I-4.

Each level is themed though, so you can remember the music (each level has different music playing), the images (ie. Jaws) and aisle numbers.
