Best way to spend our Castaway Cay day??

We spent our Castaway day hanging out on loungers on the beach with friends we met on the cruise, with the servers bringing us Mojitos. Best day ever!

I agree with everyone else that CC is definitely best enjoyed when relaxing. I will say that we really enjoy doing the 5k and/or renting the bikes. Both give you the opportunity to see parts of the island that you probably wouldn't see otherwise. If you don't feel like running definitely rent the bikes! Have fun!

What kind of bike do they offer? Are there bikes for little ones? I have a 6 year old who is still learning, but loves to ride with us.

On our Christmas sailing on the Dream our family actually spent a bit of the morning on the pool deck! We literally had the AquaDuck to ourselves as well as a pretty empty pool area. It was so packed every other day and this was the most comfortable time we spent up there. We watched the movie and relaxed a bit allowing everyone to get multiple rides on the slide. We headed onto Castaway Cay around 11:30 and were surprised to find plenty of open space to camp out. We spent the rest of the day relaxing there and felt like we had a full day of peaceful rest and rejuvenation.

It was perfect and I think that may be our plan for future trips to Castaway Cay.

i would skip the boat and fishing and enjoy the island. Rent some bikes, feed the stingrays, snorkel, a little pelican plunge and Cookies. Maybe Cookies Too and crab race

We are not in a hurry to get off the ship on CC day. We hit Cabanas about 8:30 and off the ship around 9:50, we walk to Serenity Bay by way of the tower and the far end paved road past the Cabanas and back to the food at 11am. We eat lunch before we go set up camp at the beach. We stay till around 2pm and then catch the two trams back to the ship.

IMHO best to relax and not over plan.

We've headed back to the ship to enjoy how quiet it was if getting too hot after lunch (and the youngest has had enough of the beach). The one activity we've tried for 3 times and have just given up on attempting was the glass bottom boat excursion. If they cancel, you are not charged for and ironically our last cruise not having booked, it actually ran. We've done the bikes (once - too hot if anything but early morning as PP states), had the tube/snorkel package previous and have done a Cabana (nice to have if one can get) and the DD has done para-sailed, but after a normally busy and exciting cruise up to that point we've learned and look at Castaway as the wind-down and rest before back to reality.

For us it is the beach, hammock, and a lounger. We will spend time at the beach until lunch, go eat, shop, and enjoy some more. Our first two trips were in February so I am anxious to see what CC will be like in April.

The beauty of Castaway Cay is in the name - act like a castaway - hang out on the beach, see if you can figure out where the sky ends and the seas start, drink a nice cold beverage of choice and wonder why you can't stay there forever.....

I enjoy doing the 5K and then relaxing afterwards.

DW and I have enjoyed the 5K in the morning, a quick, late breakfast back at Cabanas and then a relaxing day on the beach with maybe a little snorkeling. Especially enjoy the later part of the day as many of the families are heading back. We like to take advantage of the quiet and a few low chairs along the water's edge. Especially when it's the last day of the cruise.

5K, maybe some snorkeling. Just to relax and take it all in. Truly paradise! :sunny:
