We are currently on our first cruise ever on the Fantasy and loving it!! We had the dolphin swim on Tortola this morning, following by the Forest Hike and Beach excursion that we really enjoyed!! Tomorrow we have a tour of St. John's scheduled.

I had planned a couple of things for our Castaway Cay day (fishing excursion, glass bottomed boat tour), but am now rethinking. Feels like the best way to spend the day might just be lazing around, meeting some characters, and just generally chilling out before heading back home!!

I did reserve floats and snorkel gear as well... Figuring we might just opt for that instead!

Would love some feedback from fellow DISers!!

Thank you all! That makes more and more sense to me after a long day of running around. FUN running around, but still... ;)

we have only been there twice but both times we were just lazy and enjoyed the beach & water. Whatever you do i don't think there is a bad choice on Castway.

Are you currently completing Eastern Carribean Cruise? We are in the process of booking this for Apeil 2017. We did Western in 2014 and did the dolphon swim in Cozemuel.

Can't speak for the fishing excursion but skip the glass bottom boat tour -- your time will be better spent just relaxing.

I would just relax. If you are currently on the cruise though, it is too late to cancel the excursions you have booked.

Yes, Eastern Caribbean. We did the dolphin swim on Tortola and really enjoyed it!

Thanks! I would honestly rather be out some money and have a better day, even if we can't get money back. :(

I too feel, a lazy day at Castaway Cay is the way to go. We have done the 5k a few times, then usually my morning is spent relaxing in the sun. DH and DSs have rented the bikes for a morning ride and enjoyed that. Then after lunch we spend the afternoon at the heads up bar with the gorgeous view, tropical music, and yummy drinks.

Check with Port Adventures, they may refund you if others are looking to do the same excursion. Enjoy!
Thanks!! I checked with PA, and they had a wait list for the glass bottomed boat tour so I canceled that and will get refunded! :)

My son is really into the fishing... I think I'll do that with him and let DH and DD laze around in the morning. My Dad passed away two years ago exactly on our CC day. He LOVED fishing, and only had a chance to take DS once. I think it'll mean a lot to DS to go -- think it'll be a good experience for both of us given the connection with my Dad. Fishing is done by 1pm which will still give DS and I some lazing time. :)

So hard to know when cruising for the first time how much to schedule... We like keeping busy generally!

DW and I have enjoyed the 5K in the morning, a quick, late breakfast back at Cabanas and then a relaxing day on the beach with maybe a little snorkeling. Especially enjoy the later part of the day as many of the families are heading back. We like to take advantage of the quiet and a few low chairs along the water's edge. Especially when it's the last day of the cruise.

Very good suggestion by PP about it quieting down in the afternoon. We stay on the island until the very last minute.

What we've done: Rent bikes first thing -- before it gets too hot. Lounge in the water for a couple of hours. Lunch at Cookies, then back to the water. Save some time for walking around the island and visiting the gift shops and just relaxing. It's all about relaxing and not trying to do too much. We rented a cabana once too -- also loved that.

We have a lot of good memories there and always get off the ship -- you can't beat an island where they play Jimmy Buffet music and serve Konk Koolers! Enjoy.
