Best way to send Room Request?

I have tried the touring plans subscription but haven’t gotten any of the requests put there (not even close), in the last 3 trips

which service or process do you use pls?

I always send an email to MS with my requests. Usually I do pretty well with my requests. The only time I got the total opposite of my request was my Christmas trip (literally over Christmas time) and landed in Pago Pago facing the parking lot. Omg people are so loud at 6am getting into their cars.

I'm another one that sends an email. It's quick and easy. They might take a week or so (under current timing) to get back to you, but I do receive a response.
 
I just wonder if you were to mail them a hand written request? I would be impressed with such if I were the cast member who assigns rooms.

I doubt the room assigner CM would ever see your handwritten note. Most likely it would go to the MS folks we talk to on the phone, who’d type it in just like they do when we call to put in a request.
I suspect the era of handwritten requests is gone, after all most things are electronic today, it’s not like someone sits down w/ a bunch of pieces of paper to sort out the rooms. My understanding is that most of the figuring out of the jigsaw of room assignments is done by computer these days.
A physical piece of mail would have to be sorted then delivered to a MS CM who would then most likely have to convert it to an electronic format. I used to call in my requests, but realized I could email my request & save the phone CM the hassle of having to type my request for me, so now I just email any location preference I have & I keep it simple, figuring the fewer/simpler requests I have the more likely I’ll get them.
 
I use the email notification method to MS. Just be aware that before actually sending the email to MS that you do online on the DVC site, you should make a photo copy of the email because once you send that email online, you will not be able to find it anywhere on the site or in your emails.
 
I use chat, you get a email'd copy of the chat for your records.
You just need to wait until chat is available. Had no problem yesterday at 13:27 pm. eastern time.
 
Requested at VGF in July and got the exact room requestesd. Did the same at Riveria for our split stay and was put in the west tower instead of east. Upon check-in they would not even entertain a room change. Ended up being fine but as this thread is asking about requests, we were one for two in July. Previous trips to GF main building and CR main building requests have been exact at least 75 percent of the time and the balance very near the requested room. In summary, Riveria only place in a dozen trips a request was not met. This was actually the first time we ever requested at VGF.

Did they give an excuse for not considering a room change? Covid, booked solid, didn't want to be bothered, etc?
 
I’ve used MS and/or Touring Plans many times and have never had any success with our requests. Sometimes I wonder if they even read them I’m so far off. I realize nothing is guaranteed, just disappointing…
