Best way to schedule ADR and FP+

My family will be going in July and it will be our first time on property, using the DDP, and the FP+. I have planned out of week for the most part and wanted to know the best way to handle trying to secure everything. Should I go ahead and make ADR and hope that I can get FP+ around them or wait and schedule the FP+ and then book the ADR in May?

Don't wait to book your ADRs if you're hoping to eat at popular choices, namely character meals. You'll be able to secure your ADRs this month for your July vacation. Then, in May, book your FP+ and make the times work around your meals.
