I've googled this, and I'm finding some answers, but I'd really like to hear some personal experience. I splattered blue paint on my light-colored berber carpet. I tried to get it up when it was wet, but ended up with a bigger mess than when I started. :rolleyes1 It's in the middle of the room, so no hiding it under furniture.

What has worked for you?

TIA!

If you find out, tell me. I dripped a little bit on our carpet a few years ago and had to do a little "trimming" so that my DH didn't find out (he said I was being lazy with the drop cloths on the ground). I just took the scissors and pulled apart the fibers that were stuck together and trimmed off the tips or completely clipped the saturated pieces (these were not huge spots, so it does not look like we have holes in our carpet).

DH still doesn't know I dripped any :goodvibes

I would also try calling a paint store or a carpet store. At least you know you'll find expert help there. The DIS, not always. Good luck.

Goof Off. It's what I've used to remove dried up paint from carpet. It is smelly, though. I had a small carpet cleaning machine and after I would remove the paint with Goof Off, I would use the machine to get the smelly area thoroughly clean. Otherwise, the odor from Goof Off would just linger.

Ok, so I really WAS being lazy with the drop cloths. My 15 year old was helping me, but it was totally me that made the mess. Hate it when I can't blame a kid. ;)

Thank you! I'll give it a try.
