Best way to purchase APs

We will be making our first trip "home" to SSR at the end of March. We want to purchase APs because we'll be back again in October.
Is it better for us to buy the APs before we go, or when we get there? If we buy them when we get there,is there any hassle getting the DVC discount?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

any customer relations can sell them on property. we bought them at down town disney in g/r throught the mickey sport store. took all of five minutes. We wanted to buy them then as to not to pay for them untill we got home, we charged them

We also bought ours at Guest Relations in DD. It was very easy, just make sure you have your blue DVC member card with you.
