Best way to move from FFI to GCH?

We're going next week and splurging on 2 nights GCH concierge. Since we couldn't afford a third night there and since I had enough mypoints for a free night at a Marriott property, we're booked at FFI for our first night.

I am trying to figure out the best way to get from one to the other. We don't have a car. Can you take a taxi that short distance? I can't imagine we could walk through security with our suitcases, LOL. I wouldn't mind walking but going all the way around seems a little daunting and a tad embarrassing.

I think you could walk thru with your bags but you would have to open them. I would just take a taxi, FFI should be able to call one for you.

Thanks! I'd read a post once where the poster couldn't get a taxi to come pick them up and take them to Hojo's because it wasn't a big enough fare, but that was from the park at closing time. Hopefully we won't run into that in the morning. I guess if we do, we can hoof it, embarrassment be d*%^ed!

What????? We always have the taxis hounding us for business......we tell them we are at the HoJo and they say "it's a fare, if you need a ride I'll take you". We've never taken a taxi from the parks to the HoJo tho, that's walkable for us. I can't imagine a taxi driver turning a fare away.......especially moving from 1 hotel to another, that just makes no sense...

I agree, I think a cab should definitely be able to take you. That's why cabs have a minimum flat rate to start, THEN ___ per mile/tenth of a mile, what have you. Money is money, getting $6 for driving you a block or two should make them happy!

My vote would have been taxi as well.

I can't see the cab fare being so low it's not worth their time. I know that when I left the GCH to go to the character warehouse I spent a disproportionate time getting on Katella and up Harbor to the I-5. The traffic was just nasty and it took 5-10 minutes.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Actually, I shouldn't laugh--I just might do something like that . Go cheap on the small stuff and go GCH concierge is about my speed!!
