Best way to make dining reservations?

What is the best way to make dining reservations: online or phone? What are some of the pros and cons? Last time I went Disney didn't offer online reservations. Is it easy to see what alternate times might be available? Does the site crash alot when reservations open up?

I like the online system. I have been entering just my date and picking Breakfast, lunch or dinner as the "time" and just seeing what's available. It seems easier that way than picking a specific restaurant and time (although, i have doen that, too). If you have a nice fast internet connection, i think the online system is great!

You can book your room online, too, if that's what you mean.

I just booked ADRs for my upcoming trip on line. The system was easy to use. If you didn't get your first choice of times, it gives you alternates. It will also give you choices of other restaurants at the same time.

i just got done making mine. everything went fine. HOWEVER, at first I was just selecting "breakfast" as stated above, and the available times that came up were like 9:00, 9:15, 9:30. My heart sank as I was wanting 8 a.m. After a few times I decided for the heck of it to enter the actual time I wanted instead of breakfast, and luckily they were available. So if you have your heart set on a specific time, I would enter it as opposed to just selecting which meal.

Personally I really like the online system and found it very easy to use. The only thing I had to call in for was our Fantasmic dinner pkg.
