Best way to hold/organize trading pins?

My son and daughter bought a bunch of trading pins in advance and I am trying to figure out the best way of carrying them so that they are all easily visible but not easily "loseable" so that when we want to make a trade we can. Any suggestions/photos/ etc?

We lost so many pins last week I don't even want to think about it lol (it was our first time trading and I went a little pin crazy buying them all in the park). I'm very curious to see what other more experienced traders suggest!

I ended up buying locking backs for the pins we knew we wanted to keep. I also bought a package of new rubber pin backs. I learned that the traded pins were often the most likely to fall off as the backs were loser due to having been taken off so many times. Whenever we traded a pin I'd usually grab a new back out of my bag to use.

Other than that we just got on the lookout for falling pins, checking pin backs, etc.

We also bought a bag of 50 pin locks for like $8 online, for the same reason of backs falling off. We just have our DDs wear lanyards and every morning put on the pins they want to trade. We do the trading just to help break our DDs out of their shy shell and it helps their confidence with talking to the CMs. When they get pins that they want to keep they each have a pin trading bag that they will move them too. We use the regular backs for those.

One lanyard with a few pins to trade

People(kids) can take turns wearing the lanyard

Pins that we wanted to keep were put in my camera bag

Rubber backs

Each night or day the kids would restock the lanyard with "new" trading pins from the stash in the room

This. I only wear traders because they are so easy to lose. Once I get one I like I tend to put it in my pocket (or other bag if I have one) so it won't get lost. Back at the room I have the good pins on a thin sheet of cardboard so I can clearly see what we have and still need. Traders are in a baggie. I refill each night.

Just bought my daughter a pin trading bag off of eBay they have them at the resorts as well as the parks it looks like a small cross body and zips with pages to put pins, I always worried about losing her pins so decided to go this route next trip

The little cross body bag is the way to go with kids. There are pages to put the keepers in/on and a mesh bag type area for the traders. Wish we would have found this sooner

We haven't been since 2011. I'm excited to read that pin trading is still going on. My girls loved it last time. I'll bring their lanyards again!

I agree the small bags work well but I find we got tired of "wearing" the lanyards, bags. Having them loose ended up being a problem because the backs would slide off and we would be guaranteed to reach down in the bag and get stabbed. DS would often just wear them on his hat or both kids when older would just pin them to the backpack.

May I also suggest getting a piece of craft foam that you can attach the pins to and then sliding down in your backpack pouch, the size depending on how much you want to carry. You can get in sheets or shapes, by the piece or package at Walmart and any craft store. http://tinyurl.com/pef77b7
