We will be at Disney in a week and have a reservation Sunday night for TRex. We will have a 6 year old and an 18 month old in a stroller with us.

What is the best way for us to get from AoA to TRex?

Can we take a boat from one of the other resorts or do we have to take a bus? It sounds like driving our car isn't a good idea due to construction.

You'll want to take the direct bus. Or you can drive. I didn't find driving there to be nearly as stressful as everyone here seems to, but I don't really get stressed out about much of anything.

You could take a boat from a resort, but you would need to get to that resort. That would require transferring at a park. It's an all around bad idea.

Uber.

no matter where you are staying (short of a resort with boat access) I would take a cab. (or Uber if you like) the bus ride to/from dtd can be rough! Our 5 year old loves trex, enjoy it! :)

With either of these options you'll need a car seat for the 18 month old. You can bring your own if you have one with you, but you'll need to carry it around with you. Taxis often have them, but there's no guarantee that it will be safe or clean.

I would bring one for my child at that age but its not legally required in a taxi.

really? thats interesting, i didn't know. what is the age cut off, if you know?
It's the same as any other car, truck, or van in florida. Children 3 and under must be in a car seat. Children ages 4 and 5 must be in a booster seat.

There are exemptions for children being transported for medical emergencies, children with a medical condition necessitating an exception, and (oddly) for children being driven by unpaid drivers who are not in the child’s immediate family.

Unless you are leaving a park to go to your dinner reservation, then catch one of the buses to a resort with boat service to DTD. I would recommend port Orleans french quarter, it's a small resort with only one bus stop. The boat launch there is literally a couple minute walk from the bus stop at french quarter!

The bus to DTD is no worse than any other bus ride. I would just take the bus directly rather than going to another resort to take a boat from there.

I would just take the bus. We took the bus from Pop and CBR to DTD and it was quick and easy. I wouldn't imagine it would be much different at AoA.

We stayed at pofq last trip and really enjoyed the boat ride. I'd agree with pps about transferring there. I normally drive myself but used all disney trans (except for an afternoon transfer once) the last trip and it worked really well.
