Best way to get from HS to Epcot?

I've been to Disney 3 times before but I've never gone from HS to Epcot....I've heard that WALKING might be the best way to go. Any input? I know they have a boat as well that goes between the 2 but it can be more time consuming.... Also, if we opt to walk, it would likely be around lunch time...is there a "stop" along the way that makes sense?

Walk.

Walking will take about 15-20 min at a solid walking pace. 30 min if you want to go slower. You could stop along the boardwalk if you want, but I would just head straight through.

The boats are there but it would take a lot longer and the boats are brutal in the heat with no airflow.

If you are in Epcot's Future World, you can choose to take a Disney bus between the two parks.

The ride, once underway, takes under 10 minutes, and it's air conditioned.

We enjoy the boat ride. If you walk I would estimate about 20-30 minutes to EPCOT. You could eat on the Boardwalk on the way but I would rather eat in the countries.

I like to walk with my mom (who rides her ECV) and it takes up about 20 minutes. I don't like the boats because if feel it takes much longer because it has to stop at Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach before it gets to Epcot. I have traveled with family with 1/2 taking the boat and 1/2 walking and us walkers seem to always make it to Epcot well before the rest (enough time to head into UK and order a drink :drinking1)

I've done the walk before a few times, in the evening, it's fairly pleasant the whole way.
I find the part in between swan/dolphin and Hollywood studios to be insanely hot. So if it is a hot day, I combine boat and walking. Get on the boat at HS, get off at swan/dolphin, walk the rest of the way. It may be just a mental thing, but I find that easiest.

I will add a point though, we hadn't done the walk before and our first time walking it was around 94 degrees in the shade. That's when you notice that there is just about no shade on that walk. It was a pretty brutal walk, I was very relieved to see the ice water at Starbucks.. lol It's a very pleasant walk in the fall and winter and in the mornings and evenings but a really brutal thing around 1 pm on a hot day.

We walk most of the time.

If a boat is pulling up we may ride over and get off at one of the resorts and walk the remainder of the way.

The walk is quite enjoyable IMO.

But I agree with @JenniferinFL - that walk wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable in the heat. We are Canadian and wouldn't do well in FL heat so we always travel in the fall.

We walk unless the boat is at the dock or we see it coming. We just missed the boat walking from EPCOT to HS one time. We watched them close the gate. We walked and got there pretty much the same time as the boat. We walked by as it was docking.

I'm in the minority here, but I like taking the boat. It's true they can be pretty hot, but taking the boat forces me to sit and relax for a bit and let a second wind kick in. Yeah, it's probably faster to walk - but when we're already on the go all day, I gotta force myself to remember to sit and breathe for a minute.

I walk. I did the boats when I was a kid but I just don't have the patience for those slow slow boats. They take forever to load and unload. Just can't deal.

If you're in Epcot's Future World closer to the park entrance its easier to just take the bus,the same if you're at DHS and the plan is to do something in the Future World area.

The walk or the boats will be between Epcot's World Showcase (back entrance)and DHS.I love the walk but definitely not in the hotter months,it will zap your energy. The boats are slow, between the wait and all the stops at the resorts you're looking at possibly an hour or more if you have to wait for the boat. The walk is 20-30 minutes, remember to cut through the Luna Park pool in the Boardwalk to avoid walking around the entire Boardwalk,at least 5-10 minutes shorter walk.I can't wait for the gondolas to open,a new option to get from DHS to Epcot and it sounds like the coolest one of the bunch.

Will it be an option or will they discontinue the boat and bus service between the two parks?

I doubt they discontinue either.

Since the boats also serve the Epcot area hotels, I would assume they remain. Gondolas would be a circuitous route with a mandatory transfer between DHS and them.

Bus service between DHS and Epcot would complement the gondolas since buses go to the main entrance of Epcot and gondolas will go to the IG.

Nobody knows anything for sure but I see no reason why they would discontinue the boats or the buses. The boats get guests to the Epcot resorts and the gondolas won't be doing that so the boats shouldnt be going anywhere, the buses are a staple and get guests to the front of Epcot and the gondolas will not be going there either,so it looks like there could be four options between these parks, walk, bus, boat and gondolas.

"Best" way, not sure what you would consider best.
The most BEAUTIFUL way for me is via boat (didnt even know I could do it until my last visit in 2015). To me its about magical memories. The boat ride was scenic and relaxing, and I keep hearing about air flow, but my ride was wonderful and breezy. I would not consider walking (even if only a 20 minute walk) unless it was a cooler day, or I was just beginning my day - on high energy. We walk enough at Disney all day in the heat - the boat ride feels like ( and is for me) an attraction. When I leave Disney, the boat rides always leave the most memorable impressions for me.
